Richard P. Eno has served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Director since March 2008. Mr. Eno has more than twenty five years of professional experience in the chemicals and energy business. Prior to joining Metabolix, Mr. Eno served as Vice President, Leader Global Oil & Gas Sector at CRA International, a leading provider of management consulting services and economic and financial expertise to global companies. Earlier in his career, he held various roles at Arthur D. Little and Chevron Corporation. Mr. Eno holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University, a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Houston and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Joseph Hill has been our Chief Financial Officer since April 2008. Mr. Hill has more than twenty years of professional experience in finance, including more than fifteen years of experience at the executive level. Prior to joining Metabolix, Mr. Hill served as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer at Amicas, Inc., the leading independent provider of radiology image and information management solutions. At Amicas, Mr. Hill was responsible for all finance, accounting, investor relations, treasury, tax, administration, IT and infrastructure. Prior to that, he was vice president and CFO at Dirig Software, a privately held provider of application performance management software systems. And Mr. Hill previously served as vice president, CFO and Director of Maconomy, a publicly traded provider of web-based business management solutions with more than 70,000 users worldwide. In this role, Hill was responsible for all finance, accounting, treasury, tax, administration, and infrastructure of this public company with offices in eight countries. Mr. Hill has a B.S. in Business Administration from Bryant College and a M.S.F. from Bentley College.

Chief Scientific Officer, Vice President, Research Oliver P. Peoples, Ph.D., a co-founder of Metabolix, has served as our chief scientific officer and vice president of research since January 2000, and was previously our director of research and vice president. Dr. Peoples has served as a director since June 1992. Prior to founding Metabolix, Dr. Peoples was a research scientist with the Department of Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he emerged as a pioneer of the new field of metabolic pathway engineering and its applications in industrial biotechnology. The research carried out by Dr. Peoples at MIT established the fundamental tools and methods for engineering bacteria and plants to produce Mirel. Dr. Peoples has published numerous peer reviewed academic papers and is an inventor of over 90 patents and patent applications worldwide. Dr. Peoples received a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland.

Johan van Walsem, Vice President of Manufacturing, Development and Operations, has more than 15 years experience in the processing industry, with more than 10 years' experience leading development and manufacturing efforts for large scale fermentation-based processes.

Anthony J. Sinskey, Sc.D., a co-founder of Metabolix, has served as a director since June 1992. From 1968 to present, Dr. Sinskey has been on the faculty of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Currently at M.I.T., he is Professor of Microbiology in the Department of Biology and Professor of Health Sciences and Technology in the Harvard-M.I.T. Health Sciences and Technology Program, as well as Co-Director of the Center for Biomedical Innovation. Dr. Sinskey serves on the board of directors of Tepha, Inc. Dr. Sinskey received a Sc.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S. from the University of Illinois.

Ben Locke, Director of Government Programs, is responsible for oversight of government projects and new business development in the government sector.

Dan Gilliland, Director of Business Development, has over 25 years in marketing and sales of specialty polymers and materials. He is responsible for positioning and introducing Metabolix's products in the marketplace.

Marcia Miller, Director of Marketing, has over 20 years of experience in marketing, management and the launch of new products in both entrepreneurial and established companies. She is responsible for developing strategies for marketing, positioning and branding, PR and media relations.

Robert L. Van Nostrand has served as a director since October 2006. He is currently Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of AGI Dermatics, a bio-pharmaceutical laboratory specializing in skin photobiology. Previously, Mr. Van Nostrand was with OSI Pharmaceuticals, Inc. for 21 years, most recently as the Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer from 2005 until August 2007, and as the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 1996 through 2005. Prior to joining OSI, Mr. Van Nostrand was in a managerial position with Touche Ross & Co. (currently Deloitte and Touche). Mr. Van Nostrand serves on the board of directors of Apex Bioventures, Inc., a special purpose acquisition company focused in life sciences, and is Chairman of its audit committee, and he is on the board of Achillion Pharmaceuticals, Inc, a biotechnology company focused on infectious disease, and is Chairman of its audit committee. Mr. Van Nostrand received a B.S. in Accounting from Long Island University, New York, and completed advanced management studies at the Wharton School. Dr. Robert Whitehouse, our Director of Applications Development, has over 30 years of experience developing and marketing specialty polymers for highly technical applications. Dr. Whitehouse is also responsible for the development of new applications and markets for Metabolix's PHAs. He also directs the company's external projects in applications research.

Dr. Tom M. Ramseier, Associate Director of Microbial Development, leads the metabolic engineering team for the production of PHA Natural Plastic in microbes. He received his PhD in Molecular Biology from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland and has over 20 years experience in microbial strain development, genomics, and bioinformatics.

Dr. Frank Skraly, Team Leader of Microbial Metabolic Engineering, has a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Wisconsin. He directs Metabolix efforts in development in new metabolic pathways for PHA monomers as well as overall strain improvement programs.

Sarah P. Cecil has served as legal counsel to Metabolix since July 2005 and as general counsel since the Company's initial public offering in November 2006. Previously she was corporate counsel at Vertex Pharmaceuticals from 1992 until 2001, and at Biogen from 1985 until 1991. Ms. Cecil's legal practice has also included clients in the food ingredients, computer services and clinical research industries, as well as several biotechnology companies. Ms. Cecil received an A.B. from Brown University, and she was a C.P.A. with Price Waterhouse before obtaining a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Jay Kouba, Ph.D., has served as Chairman of the Board since April 2007, and Director since June 2006. From May 2007 until February 2008 he also served as President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Metabolix Dr. Kouba has served as the President of Oniro Consulting, a strategic management consulting firm. From January 1999 to December 2005, Dr. Kouba held several positions with BP's Petrochemicals Segment. From August 2004 to December 2005, Dr. Kouba served as senior vice president, strategy, marketing and technology for Innovene BP's olefins and polymers subsidiary, and earlier in 2004, as Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Logistics. Between 1999 and 2003, Dr. Kouba was Vice President, Technology. Dr. Kouba received a B.S. in Chemistry from Stanford University, a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Harvard University and a M.B.A. from University of Chicago..

Matthew Strobeck, Ph.D., has served as director since September 2006. From May 2003 to the present, Dr. Strobeck has served as a senior investment analyst at Westfield Capital Management, specializing in healthcare and life sciences. Dr. Strobeck previously served as a consultant to the senior economic advisor to the commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration from August 2003 to May 2004. Prior to the Food and Drug Administration, Dr. Strobeck was a fellow in the Department of Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from December 2001 to June 2002. Dr. Strobeck received his B.S. from St. Lawrence University, a Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati, a S.M. from Harvard University and a S.M. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management.

Peter N. Kellogg is currently Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Merck & Co. He was Executive Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Biogen Idec from November 2003 until August 2007. Prior to the Biogen Idec merger, Mr. Kellogg was Executive Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Biogen, Inc. after serving as Vice President — Finance and Chief Financial Officer since July 2000. He joined Biogen, Inc. in 2000 from PepsiCo Inc., where he most recently served as Senior Vice President, PepsiCo E-Commerce from March to July 2000 and as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Frito-Lay International, from March 1998 to March 2000. From 1987 to 1998, he served in a variety of senior financial, international and general management positions at PepsiCo and the Pepsi-Cola International, Pepsi-Cola North America, and Frito-Lay International divisions. Prior to joining PepsiCo, Mr. Kellogg was a senior consultant with Arthur Andersen & Co. and Booz Allen & Hamilton.
