Friends of KEXP (KEXP) is pleased to announce the election of Peter Nordstrom to its board of directors effective November 6, 2006. Mr. Nordstrom is President, Merchandising for Nordstrom, Inc and brings a combination of business expertise and a love for eclectic, independent music. Mr. Nordstrom served the past four years as president of KEXP's community advisory council.

David P. Lindsey, FAIA, is Vice President of Store Planning for Nordstrom, Inc., one of the nations leading fashion-specialty retailers with over 150 stores and facilities nationwide. Lindsey has overseen the design and construction of all company facilities since 1973. Projects include all new stores, renovations and retail concepts, corporate offices, call centers, computer facilities, and distribution centers. He has overseen (fostered) the development of more than twenty-million square feet of retail stores with a value in excess of four-billion dollars during his career. A significant portion of his time is spent in the real estate arena where he is involved with evaluation and site selection for Nordstrom stores. This includes market and site review, developer negotiation, city and agency reviews, along with other appropriate activities that might be involved. He assists in the development and is signatory to all capital projects involving real estate, design, and construction for Nordstrom. As an active ICSC member, Lindsey has chaired panels at the spring leasing convention, chaired and been a panelist at many ICSC Centerbuild conferences. He was one of the original Centerbuild conference advisory panel members, where he served for many years in the 90’s. He has guest lectured at the University of Washington, The University of Kansas, and the Seattle Chamber of Commerce, and was past member of the University of Washington College of Architecture and Urban Planning advisory board. Representing Nordstrom Lindsey has received numerous awards including the Peter Glen, Retailer of the Year award in 2006. A fellow of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the Urban Land Institute, David Lindsey is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.

Colleen Fukui-Sketchley is the Corporate Diversity Affairs Specialist for Nordstrom, Inc. In her position, she focuses on executing corporate initiatives through community outreach and contributions to national non-profit organizations. These initiatives assist with the company's efforts to recruit, hire, retain and improve customer service across all business units. Colleen has been with Nordstrom since she graduated with a degree in Speech Communications from the University of Washington in 1994. Colleen currently serves on the boards of the Educational Opportunity Programs (EOP) for the University of Washington's Office of Minority Affairs, the University of Washington Alumni Association, the Asian Pacific American Women's Leadership Institute (APAWLI) and the Washington State Business Leadership Network.

Diane Hirt, a Senior Benefits Analyst for Nordstrom, is a working mother and a 29-year resident of East King County. She helps find ways to improve the health and productivity of employees and guides her team to determine how they can focus and refine their business strategy and processes. Diane's business background includes experience in human resources and benefits administration for the insurance, public television and retail industries. She has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, local senior centers and actively works with the American Cancer Society to promote disease prevention. Having adopted her son through the Washington State foster care system, Diane knows personally how important it is to provide comprehensive services and support for the children and families within our communities.

Satre is a graduate of Stanford University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a J.D. from the University of California at Davis. He attended the Senior Executive Development Program at M.I.T.'s Sloan School of Management in 1982. Satre has been given many honors and awards during his career including being elected by the AGA to the Gaming Hall of Fame, awarded the East Coast Gaming Congress Lifetime Achievement Award as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Gaming Summit. Satre has been named Gaming Executive of the Year by the Casino Journal and selected as Best Chief Executive in the Casino and Hotel Industries by the Wall Street Journal.

Phyllis J. Campbell is lead independent director of Puget Energy and Puget Sound Energy. She has been president and chief executive officer of The Seattle Foundation since 2003. Prior to that she was chair of the Community Board of U.S. Bank, Washington from 2001 to 2003, and was the bank's president from 1993 to 2001. Campbell has been a director of Puget Energy since its incorporation in 1999 and of Puget Sound Energy since 1993. She also serves as a director of Nordstrom, Alaska Air Group, Inc., and Joshua Green Corporation. She is on the Board of Governors of the Washington State University Foundation.
