HOUSTON--BUSINESS WIRE--Oct. 2, 1995--Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE:CPQ) today fired another salvo in its ongoing drive to set the standard for value leadership with the introduction of the Compaq ProLinea "E" Series.

BOSTON--Compaq Computer Corp. and Hewlett-Packard Co. launched new salvos into the burgeoning home PC market last week with product introductions emphasizing multimedia PCs. Compaq, meanwhile, continued to distance itself from Intel by introducing some of its new Presario models as "586-class" machines, although they use the Pentium microprocessor.

Dr. Lim holds a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of London and was a Colombo Plan Scholar, British Commonwealth Scholar and IBM T.J. Watson Research Centre Post-Doctoral Fellow.
