Biography Photo Harold McGraw III Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. Harold McGraw III, age 60, has been Chairman of the Board since 2000 and President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company since 1998. Prior to that, Mr. McGraw had been President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company since 1993. He was Executive Vice President, Operations, of the Company from 1989 to 1993. Prior to that, he was President of the McGraw-Hill Financial Services Company, President of the McGraw-Hill Publications Company, Publisher of Aviation Week & Space Technology magazine and Vice President, Corporate Planning. Before joining the Company in 1980, he held financial positions at the GTE Corporation. Mr. McGraw serves on the Boards of Directors of ConocoPhillips and United Technologies Corporation. He is Chairman of The Business Roundtable and Chairman of the Emergency Committee for American Trade (ECAT). He is a member of The U.S. Trade Representative’s Advisory Committee for Trade, Policy and Negotiations (ACTPN) and The Business Council. Red Cavaney is senior vice president, Government Affairs, for ConocoPhillips. He received a Master of Science degree in Geology in 1973 and a doctorate in 1976, both from Purdue University.

W.C.W. (Willie) Chiang is senior vice president, Refining, Marketing and Transportation, for ConocoPhillips. Chiang started his career in refining with engineering, maintenance, project management, operating, and refining management roles for Chevron, independent refiner Powerine Oil Company, and Unocal/Tosco/Phillips. He has been refinery manager of ConocoPhillips refineries in Los Angeles and San Francisco, as well as general manager/vice president of western region refining. Chiang was named president, downstream strategy, integration and specialty businesses in 2003, and president, Americas supply and trading in 2005. Before being named to his current position, he served as senior vice president, Commercial, with responsibility for optimizing the value of the company’s assets through supply and trading of its commodity portfolio, since 2007. Chiang currently serves on the board of Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LLC. He is a member of the executive board of directors for the Society of Performing Arts. He also serves on the API Downstream Committee and has been involved with the NPRA throughout his career. Chiang was born in 1960 in Corning, N.Y. He received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 1981 and completed the 2004 Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Carin S. Knickel is vice president of human resources for ConocoPhillips. Knickel joined the company in 1979 as a marketing account manager. Over the next eight years she held various operating and planning positions before she was named area director of light oil sales, product supply and trading. After serving in Europe as general manager of business development for refining and marketing and then fulfilling the same role for exploration and production, Knickel returned to the United States as general manager of refining, marketing and transportation. In 2001, she was named president of the company’s specialty businesses division. Knickel assumed her current position in 2003. She has served as a board member for Colorado Special Olympics and now serves on the board of Rebuilding Together – Houston. She is currently chairman of ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run committee, providing scholarship funds for Texas youth. Born in Powell, Wyo., Knickel holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and statistics from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a master’s degree in management from M.I.T.

Frances M. (Fran) Vallejo is vice president and treasurer of ConocoPhillips. Vallejo joined the company as a geophysicist in 1987 and worked in Exploration & Production’s seismic processing and interpretation technology groups in Bartlesville, Okla. In 1991, she transferred to the Bellaire, Texas, office to concentrate on seismic interpretation and then gas supply reporting in 1993. Beginning in 1994, she took an education hiatus, returning in 1996 to Bartlesville as finance associate in treasury. In 1999, she was named manager of strategic transactions, and in 2001 became assistant treasurer. She served as vice president, upstream planning & portfolio management from 2004-2007. Vallejo became general manager, corporate planning and budgets in July 2007, before being named to her current role in October 2008. Vallejo is the past chairman of the 66 Federal Credit Union board of directors, and continues to serve as a director. She also is a 2007 graduate of the Center for Houston's Future Leadership Forum. Born in Pueblo, Colo., Vallejo earned a bachelor’s degree in mineral engineering mathematics (geophysics specialty) from Colorado School of Mines in 1987. In 1996, she received a master of business administration degree in finance and international management from Rice University in Houston and was named a Jones scholar.

Robert A. (Bob) Ridge is vice president of health, safety and environment for ConocoPhillips. Ridge joined Phillips Petroleum Company in 1978 as a process section supervisor at the Sweeny refiney. Ridge transferred from Phillips 66 Company, where he was manager of planning and budgeting since 1992, to Phillips' Sweeny, Texas complex to serve as manager in 1994. After serving as general manager of refining assets for the company's Sweeny business unit, Ridge was named vice president of health, environment and safety for Phillips Petroleum Company from 2001 to 2002. Ridge has been a member of the board of directors of the Texas Institute for the Advancement of Chemical Technology and has served as a member of the American Petroleum Institute's Operation Practices committee. Ridge was born in 1948 in Walsenburg, Colo., and graduated with a bachelor's degree in chemical and petroleum refining engineering in 1971 from the Colorado School of Mines, for which he serves as liaison.

Janet Langford Kelly is senior vice president, legal, general counsel and corporate secretary for ConocoPhillips. Kelly began her career as a law clerk for the Honorable James Hunter III of the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. She was an associate in the corporate and securities group with Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz in New York and at Sidley & Austin in Chicago, where she became partner in 1991. In 1995, she became senior vice president, secretary and general counsel at Sara Lee Corporation. Kelly joined Kellogg Company in 1999 where she was executive vice president of corporate development and administration, general counsel and secretary. Kelly joined Kmart Corporation in 2003 as senior vice president, chief administrative officer and chief compliance officer. Prior to joining ConocoPhillips in August 2006 as deputy general counsel and corporate secretary, Kelly was partner at Zelle, Hoffman, Voelbel, Mason and Gette and an adjunct professor at the Northwestern University School of Law. Kelly serves as a trustee for Columbia Funds and on the Board of Governors for the Houston Grand Opera. She previously served on the boards of United Airlines, the Gilmore Keyboard Festival, United Way of Battle Creek, Grinnell College, Joffrey Ballet, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and Evanston Hospital, and served on the Legal Advisory Committee of the New York Stock Exchange.
