Mr. Harvey, age 58, was named Chairman and CEO of CNX Gas Corporation on January 16, 2009. Mr. Harvey has also been a Director of CNX Gas since June 30, 2005, the date of its formation, and President and Chief Executive Officer and a Director of CONSOL Energy since January 1998. Prior to joining CONSOL Energy, Mr. Harvey served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of PacifiCorp Energy Inc., a subsidiary of PacifiCorp, from March 1995 until January 1998. Mr. Harvey also was President and Chief Executive Officer of Interwest Mining Company from January 1993 until January 1998 and Vice President of PacifiCorp Fuels from November 1993 until January 1998. Tom Hoffman is responsible for public and community relations for CONSOL Energy. Hoffman is the company’s chief communications officer to all external audiences and assists other department heads with internal communication. Hoffman also shares responsibility for developing and communicating CONSOL’s strategic objectives in government and business policy.
He is chairman of the Public Relations Committee for the Pennsylvania Coal Association and a member of the West Virginia Coal Association Public Relations Committee as well as the National Mining Association Communications Committee. He was appointed by Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell to serve as a member of the Mine Families First Response and Communications Advisory Council of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, a member of the President’s Leadership Council at Fairmont State University in Fairmont, W. Va., and a member of the Board of the Washington County Community Foundation.
Hoffman is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the National Investor Relations Institute, and the Public Relations Society of America. He was named the Pittsburgh Renaissance Communicator of the Year for 2008 by the Public Relations Society of America.
Hoffman is a past chairman of the North Dakota Lignite Council, a past board member of the Lignite Council and the Montana Coal Council, and a past chairman of the Government Relations Committee of the National Coal Association. He is past president of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute. In addition, he served for nine years as a trustee of Waynesburg College. He served on the board of directors of the Upper St. Clair Chamber of Commerce. He also served as a member of the Recycling Task Force for Upper St. Clair Township. He is a past member of the Board of Greene County School-to-Work, a former member of the Green County Industrial Development, Inc., and a past member of the Board of the Regional Environmental Center in southwestern Pennsylvania.
Hoffman is a native of Steelton, Pa. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in geology from Dickinson College (Carlisle, Pa.) and a Master of Science degree in geology from the University of Wisconsin, where he was awarded the Stanley Tyler Award for outstanding teaching. He attended the Darden School of Business Executive Program at the University of Virginia in 1984.
Hoffman joined CONSOL in 1974 as a manager of public relations for its Western Region. In 1977, he was promoted to coordinator - government affairs and transferred to Pittsburgh. In September 1982, Hoffman was promoted to director - federal government affairs and transferred to Washington, DC.
In early 1987, he was named director - federal government affairs for DuPont, CONSOL Energy’s former parent company. Later that year, in May, he was promoted to vice president - public relations for CONSOL Energy and returned to Pittsburgh. In 1988, he assumed the additional duties of chief public affairs officer for DuPont’s
Remington Arms Company. In 1999, he was named vice president – investor and public relations.
Prior to joining CONSOL Energy, Hoffman was assistant professor of earth science at Minot State University on Minot, N. D.

Mr. Hardesty is president emeritus and professor of law at West Virginia University (WVU). He was president of WVU from 1995 to 2007. While serving as president, he was also a member of the National Security Higher Education Advisory Board. In addition, Mr. Hardesty served as the permanent chair of WVU’s affiliated research corporation, teaching hospital and the hospital’s parent health care system of hospitals. He also serves on the board of numerous professional and civic organizations. Prior to his career in academia, Mr. Hardesty was a partner in the law firm of Bowles Rice McDavid Graff & Love in Charleston, W. John T. Mills, Director, age 60, John T. Mills joined the Board in March 2006. Mr. Mills currently serves as a member of the Audit and the Compensation Committees. In January 2008, Mr. Mills became a member of the board of directors and audit, conflicts and risk management committees of Regency GP, LLC, the general partner of Regency GP, LP, the general partner of Regency Energy Partners LP, a natural gas gathering, processing and transportation master limited partnership. Joseph T. Williams, Director, age 69, has been a Director of CNX Gas since July 10, 2006. He currently serves as chairman of CONSOL Energy's finance committee and a member of CONSOL Energy's nominating and corporate governance committee and has been a director of CONSOL Energy since January 2004. Mr. Williams is a retired oil and natural gas industry executive who has held positions as chairman or chief executive officer or both for NASDAQ, American, and NYSE listed companies. Most recently, from October 2000 to December 2001, Mr. Williams served as chairman of DevX Energy, Inc., an independent energy company. From July 1998 to August 1999, Mr. Williams was the president and chief executive officer of MCN Investment Corporation, a subsidiary of MCN Energy, Inc. Mr. Williams spent eighteen years with Chevron Corp. where he held management positions with increasing responsibility in both domestic and international operations. His executive positions after leaving Chevron included assignments at Mitchell Energy and Development Corp., Lear Petroleum Corporation, and PG&E Resources Company where, as president and chief executive officer, he oversaw the acquisition of several significant companies in building a mid-size independent oil and gas exploration and production company. He was a member of a number of industry organizations and was president of the Dallas Petroleum Club and chairman of the Dallas Wildcat Committee. Mr. Williams is also a member of both the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the 25 Year Club of the Petroleum Industry. Mr. Williams received a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas in 1960.

Patricia A. Hammick, Director, age 59, has served on the Board of Directors since June 2001. She currently serves on the Nominating and Corporate Governance and Compensation Committees. Mrs. Hammick was Senior Vice President and a member of the executive management committee of Columbia Energy Group from 1998 through 2000 and was Vice President, Corporate Strategic Planning, for Columbia Energy Group from 1997 to 1998. Mrs. Hammick received a bachelor's degree in Chemical Physics and Mathematics from Rice University in 1968, a master's degree in Physics from the University of California in 1970, and her doctorate degree in Mathematical Statistics from The George Washington University in 1989. She has received additional management and executive education at The Wharton School's Aresty Institute of Executive Education and Boston University's Gulf Oil Management Institute.

age 60, rejoined the CONSOL Energy Board in January 2009. He currently serves as a member of the audit and compensation committees. Mr. Baxter also serves as a director of CNX Gas, and was the chairman of the board from June 30, 2005 until January 16, 2009. With respect to the CNX Gas Board, he currently serves as a member of the audit committee and has also served on the finance committee. Mr. Baxter is president of Stan Johnson Company, a nationally recognized leader in commercial real estate brokerage specializing in single-tenant properties. He was chief financial officer and executive vice president of the Tulsa-based energy conglomerate, Mapco Inc., until March 1998 when it merged with The Williams Company. During his 18-year career at Mapco, Mr. Baxter held a number of officer level positions including chief information officer and senior vice president of strategic planning. Prior to his career at Mapco, he held a number of financial positions with Williams Energy Company, a subsidiary of The Williams Company.

Philip W. Baxter rejoined the Board in January 2009. He currently serves as a member of the Audit and Finance Committees of the Board. Mr. Baxter served as the Chairman of the board of directors of CNX Gas from June 30, 2005, the date of its formation, until January 2009, and continues to serve as a director of CNX Gas. Mr. Baxter served as Chairman of the Audit Committee and as a member of the Finance Committee of CONSOL Energy and served as a Director of CONSOL Energy from August 1999 until August 2, 2005. age 53, has served on the CONSOL Energy Board since January 2004. He currently serves as chairman of the compensation committee and a member of the nominating and corporate governance committee. Since 1993, Mr. Powell has also been a director of Cytec Industries, a global specialty chemicals and materials company, where he chairs the governance committee and has served on the audit committee. He has also served on the board of directors of International Executive Service Corps, a nonprofit economic development organization, since 1999. Until May 2007, Mr. Powell was a managing director of Williams Street Advisors, a New York City-based merchant banking boutique. Mr. Powell resigned from William Street Advisors to establish a family office, 535 Partners LLC where he serves as managing partner.
