Jeff Hewitt was appointed to the Cookson Board on 1 June 2005 and is Chairman of the Audit Committee. Jeff was formerly Deputy Chairman and Group Finance Director of Electrocomponents plc, the international high service distributor of electronic, electrical, industrial and commercial supplies. He is Deputy Chairman of Dialight plc, the international specialist electronics products group; a non-executive member of the Audit Committee of John Lewis Partnership; Senior Independent Director of TDG plc and Chairman of Plasmon plc. He is a chartered accountant.

Robert Beeston joined the Board and was appointed Chairman of Elementis in September 2006. He is Chairman of the Nomination Committee, non-executive chairman of Cookson Group plc and the senior independent director and chairman of the remuneration committee of D S Smith plc. From 1992 until 2002 he was chief executive officer of FKI plc. He spent 18 years with Dowty Group before joining John Brown Plastics Machinery (UK) Ltd as managing director. In 1985, he was appointed managing director of BTR Valve Group, a position he held for six years before joining FKI plc.

Barry Perry was appointed to the Cookson Board in January 2002. Barry was formerly Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Engelhard Corporation. He is also a non-executive Director of Arrow Electronics, Inc and Ashland Inc.

John Sussens was appointed to the Cookson Board on 1 May 2004 and is Chairman of the Remuneration Committee. John was formerly Managing Director of Misys plc, the global software products and solutions company. He is also a non-executive Director of Admiral Group plc, Phoenix IT Group plc and Anglo & Overseas plc.
