Mr. Simon has served as a member of our board of directors since June 2002. In February 2005, Mr. Simon co-founded Clarus Ventures, LLC, a venture capital firm focused on life sciences companies. Mr. Simon has been a general partner of MPM BioVentures III, a healthcare venture capital fund, since October 2001. From April 2000 to July 2001, Mr. Simon was chief executive officer and founder of Collabra Pharma, Inc., a pharmaceutical company. Mr. Simon served in various management positions at Genentech, Inc., including its vice president of business and corporate development. Rob currently serves as Chairman of Nektar Therapeutics, in addition to his work at OPX. Nektar Therapeutics is a publicly listed company (NASDAQ: NKTR) that develops improved pharmaceutical products using its innovative drug delivery platforms. Rob joined Nektar in 1991 as its first non-founder employee, and was the companya s CEO through 1999. Since 1999, he has served as Nektara s Chairman and was also the acting CEO in 2006.
