Mr. Malcolm is the President and Chief Executive Officer for Cowen and Company. Prior to joining the firm in 1996, where he served as head of Investment Banking, Mr. Malcolm was a Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns. Mr. Malcolm also served as a Managing Partner of Anthem Partners, L.P., an advisory investment banking boutique. Prior to that, Mr. Malcolm was a Managing Director of The First Boston Corporation where he founded and ran the High Yield Finance Group.
Mr. Malcolm received a B.A. with honors from Wesleyan University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Mr. White is Chief of Staff and Chief Administrative Officer of Cowen and Company. Previously, Mr. White was a member of SG Capital Partners, the Merchant Banking Division of Cowen, which he joined in 2003. Prior to joining the Merchant Banking Division, Mr. White was a member of the Equity Capital Markets Group of Cowen where he covered the technology and consumer sectors. Prior to this, Mr. White worked at Salomon Smith Barney in the Equity Capital Markets Group. In addition, Mr. White has seven years experience as a practicing securities and M&A lawyer at Brown Rudnick Freed & Gesmer and Lord Day & Lord, Barrett Smith. Mr. White received his B.A. from Amherst College and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.

Mr. Quirke, Head of Health Care M&A for Cowen and Company, joined the firm in 2001 from Robertson Stephens where he was Co-Head of their East Coast M&A activities. Prior to Robertson, he was a Managing Director in PaineWebber’s M&A Group responsible for all of their Technology and Healthcare M&A. Mr. Quirke focuses on Cowen’s Biotechnology, Specialty Pharmaceutical and Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Services sectors in Europe and North America. Mr. Quirke has originated and executed a large number of transactions across a range of geographies and sectors, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, exclusive sales, spin offs and other assorted defense and financial advisory assignments. Mr. Quirke received an M.B.A. from Columbia University Graduate School of Business and a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from University College Dublin, Ireland. Prior to business school, Mr. Quirke was a Project Engineer for Babcock Power PLC, a nuclear and defense contractor in the UK.
Mr. Dunlevy is Vice Chairman of Cowen and Company. Mr. Dunlevy joined Cowen in early 2004 from Thomas Weisel Partners where he was a Founding Partner. During his tenure at Thomas Weisel, Mr. Dunlevy held various positions, including Vice Chairman of Investment Banking and Vice Chairman, Private Equity & Asset Management, Co-Head of Investment Banking and Head of Equity Capital Markets. Prior to that, he was a Senior Managing Director at Montgomery Securities, where he co-lead the Consumer Group. From 1971 to 1989, Mr. Dunlevy was with the Corporate Finance department of The First Boston Corporation in New York, London and San Francisco. Mr. Dunlevy received a BS from Southern Methodist University, where he is currently a member of the Board of Trustees.

Prior to joining Cowen, Mr. Streator was Managing Director, Head of Health Care Investment Banking at Susquehanna Financial Group. Prior to Susquehanna, Mr. Streator was with Thomas Weisel Partners, where he founded the Health Care Investment Banking Group, and served as Partner and Co-Head of Health Care Investment Banking. Mr. Streator also served as a Managing Director and Co-Head of Health Care Investment Banking at Hambrecht & Quist (now JPMorgan). Mr. Reikes heads Cowen and Company's Global Health Care Investment Banking practice. Mr. Reikes joined Cowen in 1999 following 14 years at PaineWebber Incorporated, most recently as head of PaineWebber?s health care investment banking practice. Throughout his 20-year career in health care investment banking, Mr. Reikes has managed a wide range of financings and merger and acquisition transactions for companies in the medical technology, life sciences, and health care services sectors. Mr. Reikes is a director of Ricerca Biosciences, LLC and the Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care Institute of Quality Improvement. He is also a former director of Biocompatibles Ltd. and the limited partnership boards of Alkermes, Inc., Cephalon, Inc., Gensia, Inc., Genzyme Corporation, and Repligen Corporation. Mr. Fennebresque currently serves as our Non-Executive Chairman.
Mr. Fennebresque voluntary retired as Chief Executive Officer and President of the Company on
March 4, 2008. Mr. Fennebresque previously served as our Chairman and President since the formation
of Cowen Group, Inc. in February 2006 and served as Chief Executive Officer from July 2006.
Mr. Fennebresque served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Cowen and Company, LLC, and
its predecessor companies, from November 1999 until March 4, 2008 and as Chairman of Cowen and
Company, LLC and its predecessors from August 2005 until March 4, 2008. Prior to becoming Chief
Executive Officer of Cowen and Company, LLC, Mr. Fennebresque served as Head of Mergers &
Acquisitions of Cowen and Company, LLC from 1998 to 1999 and became Head of Investment
Banking in 1999. Mr. Fennebresque joined Cowen and Company, LLC in March 1998 from UBS
Securities where he had served as Head of the Corporate Finance and Mergers & Acquisitions
Departments. From 1991 to 1994, he was a General Partner and Co-Head of Investment Banking at
Lazard Fr`eres & Co. From 1977 to 1991, he was with The First Boston Corporation where he held
various positions including Head of Leveraged Acquisitions, Head of Transaction Development and
Co-Head of General Investment Banking.

JOHN E. TOFFOLON, JR.: Mr. Toffolon has served as our Lead Director since June 2007. Mr. Toffolon is a partner of The Shermen Group and is the Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Shermen WSC Acquisition Corp., a blank check public company formed for the purpose of acquiring an operating business in the alternative energy and/or agricultural field. From 2001 to 2003, Mr. Toffolon served as an advisor to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Royster- Clark, Inc., a privately-held chemicals distribution company. From 1992 to 2000, Mr. Toffolon served in various capacities, including Executive Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer for Nomura Holding America, Inc. and Nomura Securities International, Inc. Mr. Toffolon also served as a member of the Boards of Directors of both Nomura companies. From 1979 to 1990, Mr. Toffolon worked at The First Boston Corporation in various capacities, including Chief Financial Officer and Managing Director, and served on the Management and Capital Commitment Committees.

JEFFREY KURZWEIL: Mr. Kurzweil has been a partner with the law firm Venable LLP since 2002. Mr. Kurzweil focuses his practice on public policy and government relations at the federal, state, and local levels. Prior to joining Venable, Mr. Kurzweil was a sole practitioner for six years from 1998 to 2002 during which time he also focused on public policy and government relations. Prior to that, Mr. Kurzweil was a partner at several Washington, D.C. firms. In government service from 1978 to 1979, Mr. Kurzweil served as Special Assistant to the General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Commerce. Mr. Kurzweil is a cum laude graduate of Duke University and received his law degree from Vanderbilt Law School. Mr. Kurzweil has served on the Board of Trustees of Duke University, the Board of Visitors of Johnson C. Smith University, the Alumni Board of Vanderbilt Law School, and the Board of Directors of The American Schools of Oriental Research. In addition to serving as a director of Cowen Group, Inc., Mr. Kurzweil also currently serves as one of two non-family members of the Board of Directors of JWM Family Enterprises, a Marriott Family private enterprise.
