Fred is responsible for developing business and identifying new areas of opportunity for growth. As the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Strober Organization, he led the team that acquired Strober and took it private in March 1997. Fred also led the acquisitions that created Pro-Build, starting from $150 million in annual revenue in 1997 through its current $ 6 billon running rate. Before joining Strober Fred was President and a major stockholder in Marino Industries Corp., a producer of lightweight steel framing systems founded in the 1930's. He sold that business, now known as Marino/Ware, in 1993. Fred serves on the Executive Committee of the Policy Advisory Board for the Harvard Joint Center on Housing Studies and is a member of the Presidents' Council of the Home Improvement Industry. He serves also on the board of directors of HomeAid, a national non-profit provider of housing for the homeless. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University, and has attended specialized management programs at Harvard University, Babson College, and the State University of New York.
