Georgia Nelson joined Ball Corporation's board of directors in July of 2006. She is president and CEO of PTI Resources, LLC, an energy and environmental consulting firm. She is the former founding president of Midwest Generation EME, LLC, an Edison International company headquartered in Chicago. Midwest Generation is a large independent power generation company. In her 35 years at Edison International, Nelson also served as general manager of Edison Mission Energy Americas, was senior vice president of worldwide operations for Edison Mission Energy and held executive responsibilities for Edison Mission Marketing and Trading, Inc., a Boston-based energy marketing and trading subsidiary. She spent more than 25 years with Southern California Edison, a large U.S. electric utility, where she was also a senior executive. In addition to her directorship with Ball Corporation, Nelson serves as a director of Cummins Inc., Nicor Inc., and Tower Automotive, Inc. For the last two administrations she has been appointed by the Secretary of Energy to the Executive Committee of the National Coal Council, a federal advisory committee to the Department of Energy. She is currently chair of the council. She is a trustee of the Manufacturers Alliance and the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum and a director of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce. She serves on the advisory committee of the Center for Executive Women at Northwestern University and formerly served on the Women's Advisory Board of the JFK School of Government at Harvard University. She is a member of numerous organizations including The Commercial Club of Chicago, The Economic Club of Chicago and The Chicago Network. Ms. Nelson holds an MBA from the University of Southern California and a bachelor's degree from Pepperdine University, Malibu, Calif.

Robert K. Herdman, age 60, joined HSBC Finance Corporation’s Board in January 2004. Since March 2005, he has served as a member of the Board of Directors of HSBC North America Holdings Inc. Mr. Herdman is also on the Board of Directors of Cummins Inc. since February 2008. Since January 2004, Mr. Herdman has been a Managing Director of Kalorama Partners LLC, a Washington, D.C. consulting firm. Mr. Herdman was the Chief Accountant of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) from October 2001 to November 2002. The Chief Accountant serves as the principal advisor to the SEC on accounting and auditing matters, and is responsible for formulating and administering the accounting program and policies of the SEC. Prior to joining the SEC, Mr. Herdman was Ernst & Young’s Vice Chairman of Professional Practice for its Assurance and Advisory Business Services (“AABS”) practice in the Americas and the Global Director of AABS Professional Practice for Ernst & Young International. Mr. Herdman was the senior Ernst & Young partner responsible for the firms’ relationships with the SEC, Financial Accounting Standards Board (“FASB”) and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“AICPA”). He served on the AICPA’s SEC Practice Section Executive Committee from 1995 to 2001 and as a member of the AICPA’s Board of Directors from 2000 to 2001.
Mr. Herdman is Chair of the Audit Committee.
Mr. Miller has been our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation since August 1990. He is a director of Cummins Inc. (a worldwide diesel engine manufacturer), and a director or trustee of three mutual funds in the American Family of Funds of the Capital Group (New Perspective Fund, Euro Pacific Growth Fund and New World Fund). He also serves as a trustee of Yale University and a director of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation (a private grantmaking foundation focused on human and community development).
