Mr. Walsh became our Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer in March 2008. Prior to Cypress, Mr. Walsh founded Proprius Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in 2005 and was its President and CEO from its founding until Cypress acquired Proprius in March 2008. Prior to establishing Proprius, Mr. Walsh was a founder and Executive Chairman at Prometheus Laboratories, Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company, from 1995 to 2004. Prior to founding Prometheus Laboratories, Inc., Mr. Walsh was with Quidel Corporation in various senior executive roles, including Director of Worldwide Marketing and Business Development, and Director of European Operations. Prior to Quidel he was Manager of Therapeutic Operations at La Jolla Pharmaceutical Company. Mr. Walsh serves on the Board of Directors of Kanisa Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and as Chairman of the Board of Oculir, Inc. Mr. Walsh has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University.

Dr. Gendreau is the longest serving member of the Cypress management team, having joined the company in 1994. He has 20+ years of experience in the development, clinical evaluation and commercialization of drug, biologic, medical device, and diagnostic products. Dr. Gendreau led the team that designed and managed Cypress' successful clinical programs resulting in FDA approval of the Company’s current flagship product, Savella (milnacipran HCI), for the management of fibromyalgia, as well as the Company’s former rheumatoid arthritis treatment, the Prosorba column. From 1991 to 1994, he served in various senior management roles in research, clinical development and regulatory affairs for Microprobe, Inc. of Seattle, WA, a biotechnology company developing oligonucleotide technology for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. From 1988 to 1991, Dr. Gendreau served as Vice President of research and development for Source Scientific Systems, a developer and manufacturer of OEM medical devices. From 1981 to 1988, Dr. Gendreau served as manager of worldwide Health Care Technology for the Battelle Memorial Institute of Columbus, OH. At Battelle, he served as a medical technology consultant, managed scientific and clinical development programs globally, supervised reimbursement and policy analysis, and developed diagnostic products. He also concurrently while at Battelle spent five years as Principal Investigator of the National Center for Biomedical Spectroscopy, an NIH funded center of excellence based on findings from Dr. Gendreau's doctoral research at Ohio State. Dr. Gendreau received his B.S. degree in Chemistry from Ohio University, and his M.D./Ph.D. degree in medicine and pharmacology from the Ohio State University, where he graduated summa cum laude.

Sabrina Martucci Johnson was appointed Chief Operating Officer in January 2008 and previously served as our Chief Business Officer. Ms. Johnson has served as our Chief Financial Officer since April 2002. Ms. Johnson joined the Company in August of 1998 and held various positions from 1998 through 2002, including Vice President Marketing. Ms. Johnson previously held marketing and sales positions with Advanced Tissue Sciences and Clonetics. Ms. Johnson has an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird) and a MSc. in Biochemical Engineering from the University of London, and a BSc. in Biomedical Engineering from Tulane University. Ms. Johnson began her career in the biotechnology industry as a research scientist with Baxter Healthcare, Hyland Division. Ms. Johnson currently serves on the audit committee of Project Concern International and on the Board of Advisors of the Tulane School of Science and Engineering.

Dr. Rao joined Cypress in August 2000 and has worked in a variety of areas, including scientific assessment of potential in-licensing compounds, business development, preclinical study design, design and execution of Cypress’ genomics program, and the development and maintenance of Cypress’ intellectual property portfolio. His current responsibilities also include heading Cypress’ commercial laboratory. Prior to Cypress, Dr. Rao worked as a free-lance medical electronics consultant while completing his combined M.D. and Ph.D. program at Yale Medical School. His Ph.D. research focused upon central nervous system neuropharmacology and took place in the laboratory of Dr. Patricia Goldman-Rakic, a world-renowned expert in working memory and pre-frontal function. Upon completion of his M.D. degree, Dr. Rao completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Dr. Rao holds both an M.S. and B.S. from Yale University in Electrical Engineering.

Denise L. Wheeler was appointed as General Counsel in July 2007, after serving as Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary since February 2004. From September 1997 to February 2004, she was an associate with Cooley Godward. Ms. Wheeler practiced primarily in the areas of corporate finance and general corporate representation of life sciences companies. Ms. Wheeler represented both privately-held and public companies in the life science industries in a wide range of transactions, including public offerings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions and technology licensing. Ms. Wheeler received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1997. She completed a Bachelor's degree, cum laude, at Old Dominion University in 1991. Ms. Wheeler is a member of the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association and the San Diego County Bar Association. Ms. Wheeler also serves on the board of Neighbor Help, a nonprofit charitable organization.

Jean-Pierre (JP) Millon is co-founder of BLS, LLC, a consulting and investing entity based in Indianapolis. He is also a partner in Areks, a Swiss-based pharmaceutical service company. Until September 2000, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of PCS Health Systems, one of the country's largest pharmacy benefit managers. Prior to joining PCS, Mr. Millon was an executive with Eli Lilly and Co., PCS' former parent company. His career with Lilly spanned two decades and was highlighted by leadership positions in the United States, the Orient, Europe, and the Caribbean Basin. Most recently, Mr. Millon served as President and General Manager of Lilly Japan, K.K. and Vice President of the Lilly pharmaceutical division in Kobe, Japan. Mr. Millon is the non-executive Chairman of MPV, Inc., a private health services company, and is an advisory board member with Care Capital LLC, a health care venture fund based in Princeton, New Jersey. Mr Millon also serves on the Boards of AdvancePCS, and IphysicianNet. He is also a member of the Global Advisory Council of The American Graduate School of International Management; Northwestern University's Graduate School of Management Alumni Advisory Board; the Dean's Council of 100 of the College of Business at Arizona State University; and the Barrow Neurological Foundation Board of Trustees.

Cassin's most recent job was strategic planning for the Anschutz Medical Center in Aurora, which is bringing three hospitals, five medical schools and several other facilities to the site of the former Fitzsimmons Army Hospital there. Cassin, who lives in Gennessee near Denver and who has a home in Singletree, was between jobs, and was ready to finish negotiations with a Cleveland-based medical company to run a project in the Persian Gulf state of Abu Dhabi.

Timothy M. Buono has served on our board of directors since March 2000. Mr. Buono is a founder and member of Aura Equity Partners, LLC, a private equity firm focused on growth oriented investments in companies within the consumer driven health and personal care markets. Mr. Buono previously served as vice-president of Tullis-Dickerson & Co., Inc. from 1997 to 2008, a healthcare focused venture capital firm. During this time, he was also a partner in the general partner entities of its sponsored venture capital funds. From 1994 to 1997, he served as senior vice president, business development, for Health Partners, Inc., a healthcare services company. From 1993 to 1994, Mr. Buono served as director, business development, for Occupational Health Resources, Inc., a healthcare services company. From 1990 to 1993, Mr. Buono served as an associate of Tullis-Dickerson & Co., Inc. From 1988 to 1990, Mr. Buono was a financial and operations analyst for Shaffer-Clarke. Mr. Buono is a director of a number of privately-held companies. He received his B.A. in Economics from Connecticut College in 1988, and completed an Executive Program at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business in 2003.
