Jim Mitchum holds a BSc from Milligan College and an MBA from the University of Tennessee. He began his pharmaceutical career with Eli Lilly and spent most of his 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry with Aventis Pharma. In addition to holding senior financial management roles in both the US and Germany, Jim also ran major commercial operations in the UK and Japan. Prior to joining EUSA, he was President and CEO of Enturia, a privately owned antiseptic device company that in 2008 was sold to Cardinal Health for $490 million. Jim joined EUSA Pharma as President, The Americas in April 2009.

Dr. Michael J. Manyak is Vice President for Medical Affairs for Cytogen Corporation and Professor of Urology, Microbiology, and Tropical Medicine at The George Washington University Medical Center (GWUMC). His research interests include the expression and regulation of a protein that inhibits metastasis, monoclonal antibody use for detection of prostate cancer metastasis, surgical simulation with virtual reality, and other applications of medical biotechnology. After completing his urological residency at GWUMC, Dr. Manyak became an American Foundation for Urological Disease Scholar at the National Cancer Institute and completed a fellowship in biotechnology. In 1988, he joined the urological staff at GWUMC, where he remained for 16 years, serving for the last nine of those years as Interim Chairman of the Department of Urology. Dr. Manyak's medical corporate experience includes service on the scientific advisory board or as a consultant to more than 25 biomedical technology and pharmaceutical companies. In this capacity, he has been involved in business development, strategic planning for FDA approval of products, intellectual property development, protocol constructions, and clinical trials. He is a founder of Metastatin Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company developing anti-metastatic therapies. Dr. Manyak served on the Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services as a member of the Imaging Subcommittee. In addition, he received a presidential appointment to the National Kidney and Urological Disease Advisory Board. He is currently a voting member of the FDA Regulatory Panel for Genitourinary and Gastrointestinal Devices. Dr. Manyak served for five years as Chairman of the American Urological Association Technology Association (AUA) Council and on five other technology-related AUA committees. He has published nearly 200 professional abstracts, book chapters, and refereed journal articles. Dr. Manyak was Managing Medical Editor of the nationally acclaimed Time-Life Medical Publications prostrate cancer educational video and the Medical Editor for the Public Broadcasting Corporation video Check It Out, which received the Creative Excellence Award at the US International Film and Video Festival and a National Media Owl Award. He is the Medical Editor for the Virtual Prostate website that received the Gold World Wide Web Health Award in 2004. He is also a urologic consultant to Mens Health Magazine and has made numerous appearances on national networks. Dr. Manyak maintains an avid interest in field exploration and expedition medicine. He is a consultant to several journalists and members of the National Geographic Society, NPR Radio Expeditions, and USA Today for travel medical issues and is the urologic consultant to the Peace Corps. He is a founder and director of MED-GARD, Inc., which provides charitable medical services in remote underserved areas. Recently, Dr. Manyak was appointed by NASA to the Aerospace Medicine and Occupational Health Advisory Committee.

Rolf Stahel, a Swiss national, is a graduate in Business Studies (KSL, CH) and attended the 97th AMP at Harvard . Allen Bloom has served on our Board of Directors since June 2003. Dr. Bloom is currently a business development consultant. Dr. Bloom, a patent attorney, was a partner at the law firm Dechert LLP, from 1994 until his retirement in December 2003 and is now Of Counsel. He was Co-Chair of the Intellectual Property Group and headed a patent practice group which focused on biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and medical devices. For the nine years prior to that, he was Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of The Liposome Company, Inc., a biotechnology company. His responsibilities there included management of patent, regulatory and licensing activities. Dr. Bloom also serves on the Board of Directors of Unigene Laboratories, Inc. Stephen K. Carter, M.D. has served on our Board of Directors since September 1998. Since 1997, Dr. Carter has been a consultant to the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Carter was Senior Vice President of Research and Development at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from 1995 to 1997. Prior to joining Boehringer, Dr. Carter was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Clinical Research and Development at Bristol-Myers Squibb Company. From 1976 to 1982, Dr. Carter served as Director of the Northern California Cancer Program. Dr. Carter was also appointed to President Clinton's panel for AIDS drug development. Dr. Carter is a director of Allos Therapeutics, Alfacell Corporation, Emisphere Technologies, Inc. and Vion Pharmaceuticals Inc. and several privately held companies. Dr. Carter received an A.B. in History from Columbia College and an M.D. degree from New York Medical College. He completed a medical internship and residency at Lenox Hill Hospital.
Gilles Alberici has 20 years of experience in the European pharmaceutical industry. Gilles obtained his PharmD (1981) from Paris University, and then was resident and researcher in immunology in one of the French leading academic research hospitals (Institut Gustave-Roussy) where he received his PhD (immunotoxicology). Gilles then served as Development and Manufacturing Director of biological agents in the Merieux Group. He founded (1994) and managed IMTIX, a Pasteur-Merieux business unit dedicated to transplantation and haematology. He was then President of IMTIX-SangStat, the European affiliate of SangStat, where he managed more than 140 people in 12 different countries. Gilles is the author of more than 40 publications and 4 issued patents. Gilles founded OPi in September 1999. Since their inception, he served as President and CEO of OPi SA and its subsidiaries.

William (Bill) Crouse is Managing Director and a General Partner of HealthCare Ventures, one of the worlda s largest venture capital firms specializing in biotechnology. HealthCare Ventures creates, finances, manages and builds high science biopharmaceutical companies. The company has led the strategic development and management of more than 90 companies with a combined market capitalization of greater than $50 billion in important and emerging fields such as genetic therapy, genomic sciences, and organ and cellular transplantation. Mr Crouse maintains extensive contacts with major pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and has assisted HealthCare Venturea s portfolio companies in initiating and negotiating collaborative agreements which have resulted in more than $3 billion of funding to those companies. He has over forty years of experience in the pharmaceutical and diagnostics industry in general management, international operations, strategic planning, licensing, acquisitions, new product development, and sales and marketing. Prior to joining HealthCare Ventures, he was Worldwide President of Ortho Diagnostic Systems and a Vice President of Johnson & Johnson International from 1987 to 1993.
