D&D Commodities Ltd.

After spending 17 years in the agricultural seed industry, Dick Hebert founded D&D Commodities Ltd. in 1987. For a time, he also served as the company's main salesman. After a growth spurt in 1989, Hebert expanded his staff and assumed more traditional management duties (although it was still common to see him working in the production facility). Dick has been one of the Wild Bird Feeding Industry's most active members (and currently serves on the non-profit organization's board of directors), and has been the driving force behind the adoption of quality standards throughout the wild bird food industry. Dick loves the outdoors and spends as much time as possible at his lake home.

Born and raised in Minnesota, Jerry relocated to Colorado in 2002 to help build and then manage D&D's state-of-the art production facility there. As General Manager, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the facility, as well as maintaining contact with corporate headquarters in Stephen, MN.

Born and raised in Wyckoff, New Jersey, Cean started working in the pet industry in 1983 for a regional pet supply distributor. She came to D&D in 2003. As a special accounts manager, Cean works with retail store owners to promote D&D's brands and educate consumers on the nutritional needs of their pets and wild birds. Cean is a member of the Audubon Society. One of Cean's favorite activities is birdwatching.

A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Christopher began working in the wild bird industry while attending Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. He works hand in hand with D&D's customers in the southeastern United States.

Jennifer started working at D&D Commodities Ltd. in March of 1992. She is involved in ordering, shipping and the production process for all the orders D&D customers submit. Jennifer is an active member of the Wild Bird Feeding Industry.

Jerry began his career as an assistant to Dick Hebert as Dick started his career in the seed business. In 1989 he became the manager of cleaning operations at Dick's own company, D&D Commodities Ltd., and in 2001 began to supervise both the cleaning and blending operations. He also manages the commodities purchased and received at both the Greeley and Stephen plants. In addition, Jerry is the supervisor of the OSHA program in Stephen and is also responsible for some OSHA coordination in the Greeley and Pierce facilities. He is an active member of the Wild Bird Feeding Industry.

A graduate of St. Cloud State University, Ken started his career as a substitute teacher and coach. After receiving training as a computer programmer, Ken got a job with a pet industry distributor for 10 years. After deciding that sales was his true calling, Ken came to D&D. Today, he is responsible the distribution and promotion of all D&D products, with a special focus on farm and home stores. Ken also assists other D&D sales managers in helping to develop their business with key customers. An avid athlete, Ken has played in a total of nine Minnesota state tournament competitions, including basketball, baseball and softball.

Before joining D&D Commodities Ltd., Marty spent seven years as a sales representative for a large pet supply distributor in northern Michigan. He came to D&D in 1998. He works closely with distributors and distributor reps and calls on major accounts within his territory.

A graduate of the University of North Dakota (with a bachelor's degree in business marketing), Mitch visits current and prospective clients daily in a pursuit to grow the number of customers that D&D can help to succeed.

Monte has been in sales and sales management for over 25 years, with more than sixteen of those years in the pet care category. He is responsible the distribution and promotion of all D&D products, with a special focus on grocery and large pet stores. Monte also assists other D&D sales managers in helping to develop their business with key customers.

Ironically, Roger started in the construction business, and one of his jobs was helping on D&D's very first building addition. At the end of the job, D&D's president asked Roger to stay on and help with production throughout the winter. That was 1989, and Roger has been with D&D ever since. Roger's job at D&D includes scheduling of packaging lines and overseeing all production. He also receives packaging and specialty commodities for use in production.

A 20-year veteran of the pet product business, Tim oversees sales and promotions with all of his accounts. He has been with D&D since 2002.

Hal earned his bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. After college, he spent eight years in retail before coming to D&D Commodities Ltd. in 1996. As the Sales & Marketing Coordinator, Hal coordinates the efforts of D&D's outside sales force with the internal departments of D&D. He also organizes marketing efforts with D&D's advertising partners and helps to develop new products. In addition, Hal deals with the regulatory issues that D&D encounters with both state and federal agencies. Hal is a member of the Wild Bird Feeding Industry's Standards Committee. Each year, Hal travels to Northern Ontario for a fishing excursion with his old college buddies.
