Derrell was promoted in February of 1999 to General Manager of Operations at Dallas and Mavis Specialized Carrier Co. In this position his responsibilities include planning, directing, and coordinating the activities of the Operations Department to ensure optimum use of equipment, facilities and personnel. Derrell received his BA in Sociology in 1974 from Southwestern State University in Weatherford, OK and his Masters Degree in Contract and Acquisition Management from the Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) in 1987. Derrell retired from a 23-year career as a US Army Transportation officer achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel to begin a civilian career in the transportation industry.

Cliff Smith joined Dallas & Mavis in January 2004 as Vice President of Brokerage/Logistics.
