Joanne Ballerini is a certified nurse case manager with more than 20 years of diversified experience in clinical nursing and health care management. Prior to her 2001 appointment as Concierge/Patient Care Coordinator, Joanne spent two years coordinating the care of patients in a self-insured health plan in Danbury, and three years as Danbury Hospital's oncology clinical case coordinator, facilitating education and access to clinical and support services for patients and families. Additionally, she spent six years as a clinical case coordinator with MetLife Insurance Company, Westport, where she coordinated care for people with long-term illnesses and specialized in organ and stem cell transplantation. From 1974-87 at Montefiore Medical Center, Einstein-Weiler Division, Bronx, New York, she held progressive responsibilities from staff nurse to administrative supervisor for a medical unit. Joanne earned her nursing diploma from Mount Vernon Hospital School of Nursing and a bachelor's degree in nursing from Herbert H. Lehman College-CUNY. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and the Case Management Society of America. Joanne holds a certification in Case Management through the Commission for Case Management Certification.

Prior to her appointment as Manager of the Praxair Cancer Center at Danbury Hospital in 2000, Pat Hough has over 25 years of experience in progressive roles in oncologic nursing and nursing management. She earned a B.S. in nursing from Western Connecticut State University, and is a graduate of Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing. Her previous roles at Danbury Hospital include manager of the oncology program, cancer concierge, nurse manager and assistant nurse manager of oncology, and an oncology staff nurse. Hough is a recipient of the American Cancer Society's Lane W. Adams Award, Nan Burley Nurse's Award and Excellence in Oncology Nursing Award. She is a member of the Professional Advisory Board of Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut, the Oncologic Nursing Society, and the Danbury Hospital Ethics Committee.

Rick Rigling, BS, RDCS, FASE, Secretary has represented the American Society of Echocardiography on the ICAEL Board Of Directors since November 2000. He is the Cardiology Non-Invasive Clinical Manager at Danbury Health Systems in Danbury, CT. As the technical director for the operations of this large Inpatient and Outpatient Diagnostic Cardiology Service, Mr. Rigling is interested in practical solutions to sound operations in Echocardiography Services. As a current member of the ASE Board Of Directors and a participant on various committees as well as in lead roles on several Sonographer Staffing Training and Education issues, Mr. Rigling has promoted linking quality sonographer training and practice to regulatory guidelines.

Dr. Mendelssohn is chief and physician director of the Department of Nephrology at Humber River Regional Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. He is also an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto. He is currently one of two Canadian principal investigators for the multinational Dialysis Outcomes and Practice Pattern Study (DOPPS). Dr. Mendelssohn has chaired the Nephrology Section of the Ontario Medical Association. He has also served as chair of the Specialist Coalition of Ontario, the Toronto Region Dialysis Committee, and the Professional and Public Policy Committee of the Canadian Society of Nephrology.

Dr. Appleton is a licensed naturopathic physician, writer, and educator in the field of evidence-based complementary and alternative medicine. He received his bachelor's degree from Reed College and his doctorate in naturopathic medicine from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM). Dr. Appleton completed a residency at Bastyr University of Natural Health Sciences, where he was also on faculty as an adjunct professor of orthopedics and clinical medicine. He has had private practices in Washington, Vermont, and Oregon, and has also worked in the nutritional supplement industry as a director of scientific and regulatory affairs. Dr. Appleton is currently Chair of the Nutrition department at NCNM. He has been a regular contributor to several Healthnotes publications, including Healthnotes Newswire, Healthnotes, Clinical Essentials, and Quick!Reference.

Joan is a licensed social worker dedicated to providing psychosocial and emotional support to patients and families. She earned her bachelor's degree in social work from Western Connecticut State University and her master's in social work from Fordham University. Joan has worked at Danbury Hospital since 1998. Prior to her appointment as the oncology social worker she worked with the family birth center. Joan has worked as a private psychotherapist as well as a counselor with CPC Associates, Midwestern CT Council on Alcoholism, the Danbury Center for Living Skills and the Catholic Family Services. She is a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work, holds a certification in Critical Incident Stress Management and is a member the Social Work Oncology Association, National Association of Social Work, and Association for Bereavement Counselors.

Peggy Gilmore is a registered nurse with over thirty years of experience in critical care, neonatal nursing and oncology. She earned her nursing degree from Lenox Hill Hospital School of Nursing and her bachelor's degree from Hunter College. Peggy began the Complementary Medicine Program at Danbury Hospital in 1996. She has had a strong interest in holistic medicine since the beginning of her career. She has been therapeutic touch and reiki practitioner for over twenty-five years. Peggy has a wealth of knowledge in complementary medicine having studied polarity, Shiatsu, reflexology, aromatherapy, Chinese medicine, herbology, homeopathy, holistic nutrition, magnetic therapy as well as relaxation and guided imagery techniques.

Robert A. Kloner, MD, PhD, is Professor of Medicine in the Cardiovascular Division, Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, in Los Angeles. He is also Director of Research at the Heart Institute of Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles and attending cardiologist at Los Angeles County/University of Southern California Medical Center. Dr Kloner received his MD in the honors program in medical education and his PhD from Northwestern University The Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital (formerly Peter Bent Brigham Hospital) in Boston, Massachusetts. Additional training included clinical and research fellowships in medicine and cardiology at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital. He served as Assistant and then Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and as an attending cardiologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital. There he received the Established Investigator Award of the American Heart Association (AHA). Dr Kloner is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, an inaugural fellow of the Council on Basic Cardiovascular Sciences of the AHA, and was elected to the American Society of Clinical Investigation. A frequent contributor to the medical and scientific press, Dr Kloner has contributed 500 original papers, 196 chapters or monographs, and 410 abstracts. He is the author and editor of 18 medical texts, including Cardiovascular Trials Reviews (10 editions), The Guide to Cardiology, Stunned Myocardium, Ischemic Preconditioning, VIAGRA, and Heart Disease & Erectile Dysfunction and 3 novels titled The Beta Virus, Mind Cure, and The Deity Genes. Among his editorial responsibilities, Dr Kloner serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology and Therapeutics and the International Journal of Impotence Research and is on the editorial boards of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Circulation, American Journal of Cardiology, American Journal of Geriatric Cardiology, Journal of Molecular and Cellular Cardiology, Heart, Heart Disease, Basic Research in Cardiology, and Regenerative Medicine. Among his many career distinctions, Dr Kloner has been listed in Who's Who in America and The Best Doctors in America and in 2002 was identified by the Institute for Scientific Information as ISI Highly cited.com; one of the world's most highly cited scientific authors.

Sue Gran is a registered nurse with more than 15 years of oncology experience in both research and nursing management roles. She earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Western Connecticut State University and her master of public health in policy and management from New York Medical College, Valhalla. Prior to her appointment as research coordinator in 1999, Sue spent more than 15 years at Danbury Health Systems in various clinical and administrative nursing service and community health roles. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the International Nursing Honor Society, and the Oncology Nursing Society, the Society of Clinical Research Professionals She is also a member of the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (nursing committee) and the American College of Surgeons Oncology Group (allied health professional). Sue serves as clinical nursing instructor at Western Connecticut State University.

Dr. Rick Chester is a naturopathic physician, homeopath, acupuncturist, and pharmacist. He received his Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine degree from National College of Naturopathic Medicine in 1992 and his Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the International Institute of Oriental Medicine. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from Oregon State University and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Oregon. Dr. Chester taught pharmacology, geriatric medicine, pulmonology, and practice management at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe Arizona. Dr. Chester is also a writer and Science Editor for Healthnotes, a consumer-oriented alternative medicine resource.

John R. Patrick has been a director of the Company since January 2003. Mr. Patrick has been President of Attitude LLC since 2001. Prior to that, Mr. Patrick worked at IBM Corporation from 1967 to 2001. Mr. Patrick was Vice President of Internet Technology at IBM from 1995 to 2001. He is a member of the board of directors of Knovel Corporation, Opera Software ASA, Danbury Health Systems and Danbury Hospital.

Robert Geckle joined Investcorp as an Advisory Director to the private equity team in 2002. Bob has over 30 years experience as an executive with Fortune 100 and privately held industrial and technology-based businesses. Among previous positions held are President of the Fluid and Power Group division of Textron, and Chairman and President of Branson Ultrasonics Corporation, a subsidiary of Emerson Electric Company which manufactured plastics joining and precision cleaning equipment. Bob's track record in driving growth through new products and market expansion as well as his background in executing acquisitions complements our corporate investment strategy. Bob holds an MBA from Wharton and a BA from Middlebury College. Bob is Board Member of Danbury Health Systems.
