NPR Adds Video Clips and Citizen Reporters Via YouTube Deal
In a new deal announced this week with YouTube, National Public Radio will now select user-generated videos and embed them on its website. This is the latest in a series of moves to establish NPR as a multimedia company. by David Weir
NPR Redesigns To Provide A News Destination Site
National Public Radio NPR's newly designed website has gone multimedia in that it now provides a lot more text stories in addition to its traditional audio reports. This is a good example of how media companies need to develop different approaches to presenting their content online. Even...
NPR: How a Diverse Revenue Stream Works
In the comments thread following his excellent piece about NPR over on Mashable, Josh Catone documents one of the key business reasons public radio is faring better during the current media industry shakeout than are many commercial networks. It boils down to NPR's diversified set of revenue...

One unusual aspect of last week's management change at National Public Radio is that the man who fired CEO Ken Stern and has replaced him an Interim CEO, Dennis Haarsager, is a veteran blogger and a good one at that. So, when Haarsager promised on Friday that...
How NPR's CEO was Dumped
Insiders say that National Public Radio NPR's CEO Ken Stern lost his job yesterday in a shockingly abrupt fashion. My sources say that Board Chair Dennis Haarsager simply walked into Stern's office, fired him and told him that it was time for him "to leave the...
