H. Keith Johnson, MD, Chairman of the Board, a native of New York City, is a Board Certified Nephrologist retired from the Division of Nephrology at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, and formerly Medical Director of the renal transplant service at Vanderbilt Hospital and Veterans Administration. He is the founder of DCI and currently serves as the Chairman of its Board of Trustees. He was the founding President of SEOPF during 1980 and President of UNOS from 1988 to 1989.

Hal Whetstone, Director of Corporate Contracts/Sales and Marketing, has been with DCI since 1988. Hal received his BS in Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University and has worked in the dialysis field since 1973, coming to DCI after spending 15 years with Abbott Laboratories in sales and marketing. Mark S. Likos, Director of Risk Management, came to DCI in 2000 after serving as Interim Director of Risk Management for the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Hospital, University and The Kirklin Clinic. William E. Wood, Assistant Treasurer/Director of Operations, has been with DCI since 1988 initially in the capacity of Director of Internal Audit. Bill was named Director of Operations in 1995. H. Keith Johnson, MD provides the medical direction for Camp Okawehna. Dr. Johnson is the founder of the nation's largest not-for-profit dialysis care provider--Dialysis Clinic, Inc. (DCI). He served as Medical Director of the Kidney Transplant Program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for over 25 years. He has since retired from his Vanderbilt position and devoted his time to the management of DCI.

Dr. Philip Berry, a practicing pediatric nephrologist, is responsible for the management of the hemodialysis facility during the week of camp. Dr. Berry is assisted by several other pediatric nephrologists from both the Nashville medical community and outside cities. Because of the nature of this camp, there are numerous medical staff members on site 24 hours a day the entire camp session. Staff from respective city groups accompanies their campers to camp to supplement those volunteers from the Nashville medical community. Every camper who requires hemodialysis is required to bring with them a knowledgeable "home unit" staff person who knows the intricacies of the child's dialysis treatments and care. During hemodialysis sessions (3 times the week of camp), a physician is in the dialysis facility to monitor and oversee the dialysis treatments. In addition, each cabin at camp has assigned to it at least one medical professional who lives in that cabin during the week of camp. If a medical emergency happens to arise, Columbia Horizon Medical Center is a short distance away for any emergency treatment. Vanderbilt University Medical Center is available for helicopter transports if needed.

Nancy N. Johnson, who has served on the Board since the inception of the company, is a graduate of Mt. Holyoke College with a Bachelor of Science and completed her Masters in Education at Harvard University. She has taught science and math since 1960 and specifically at Franklin Road Academy in Nashville since 1971. In 1993 she was one of three recipients of the President's Award for Excellence for outstanding science teaching in the state of Tennessee.
