Delta Dental

Pat is the Chief Information Officer at Delta Dental of California, a $5 billion dollar enterprise and the largest dental insurance provider in the country. Prior to Delta Dental, he was the Chief Information Officer at Albertsons, a $37 Billion retailer. During his career there, he had experience in all aspects of retail, wholesale, supply chain, merchandising, information technology (IT), and worldwide retail exchange functions. As member of the executive management team, Pat led numerous strategic projects, including both large and small mergers and acquisitions.

Don received his MBA from Harvard Business School. Subsequently, he taught Finance and Control at IMEDE (now IMD) a school for middle management set up in Switzerland by Harvard. Don was Vice President of Administration and a Board member of Dennison Manufacturing, a Fortune 500 company. After leaving Dennison, Don was CEO of Cramer Electronics. He founded and ran several companies in telecommunications and software, including a successful leveraged buy out. Working with Harvard Law School, Don created legislation to set up an international financial center in Nepal. Don is also founder and director of Delta Dental of Massachusetts and is a director of a number of companies.

The tragic events of 9-11 moved Jeff to attend Twin Oaks in 2001, along with his family. A few weeks later he became a passionate, loyal follower of Jesus Christ. His wife also became a believer at that time. Since then he has grown and flourished in his walk with Christ and ability to lead the church. In the secular world he works as the Customer Service Director for Delta Dental. Jeff and his wife, Cindy, are thoroughly devoted to raising their two girls, Katie and Sarah, in the image of Christ.

Brandon Caudle is the Support Center Manager for Delta Dental of California. Over the past nine years at Delta Dental, he has consolidated six Help Desks and been instrumental in the creation of Delta's 24x7 Follow the Sun support model and also the Enterprise-wide adoption of consistent Incident Management Best Practices and Processes Brandon is the past president of the Sacramento Chapter of HDI and carries the HDI Help Desk Manager Certification. His passion is Customer Service and willingly shares his thoughts and experiences both online and in speaking to HDI and other groups.

We're pleased to announce our newest addition to the Express Education team, Mr. David B. White. Dave began his career in the industry as an Assistant Manager with Geisinger Health Plan in 1997. He managed the sales representatives, assisted with retaining membership, conducted open enrollment, made group presentations, and handled marketing. Dave then moved to Marketing Manager for Delta Dental servicing the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Pennsylvania region.

Rob Saunders, CQMgr, CQE, CQA has been working in the quality field for over 20 years with experience ranging from a Dimensional Inspector, a Supplier Quality Engineer, to a Quality Manager. Due to the traveling Rob has had, he lacks encompassing the globe by the distance from the East bank of India to Shanghai, China. He relocated to Sacramento in the fall of 1999 and joined the Sacramento Section in February of 2000. When first arriving in Sacramento Rob was assigned to Hewlett Packard's, Americas Integration Center in Roseville as a Quality Engineer. He currently works at Delta Dental as a Senior Quality Analyst. Rob has served several volunteer positions with the section including Past Section Chair and Program Chair. Currently Rob serves ASQ as a Deputy Regional Director for Region 6, and the Certification Chair for the Sacramento Section. Rob is also involved in activities with California Council for Excellence, (CCE), who administers the California Awards for Performance Excellence and Sacramento Area Council for Excellence, (SacE), a regional council for CCE.

Dr. Lawrence D. Crawford, a VITEC Board Member is President and Chief Executive Officer of DBM Technologies, an automotive supplier of blow molded plastic products and assemblies. This $70 million company has six manufacturing locations throughout the Midwest and employs more than 500 people. Dr. Crawford is a past chairman of Delta Dental Plan of Michigan and has served on the Delta Dental Board of Directors since 1989.

Gerald A. Sydell served as vice chairman of Delta Dental's Board of Trustees in 1998 and has been a member of the Delta Dental Board since 1980. He has served as chairman of the Dental Advisory and Policy Committee as well as a member of the Executive Committee and the Nominating Committee. Dr. Sydell also serves as vice chairman of the Delta Dental of New Jersey Foundation, Inc. Prior to opening his private practice in Cranford, New Jersey, where he practiced for more than 40 years, Dr. Sydell served as an officer in the United States Air Force. Dr. Sydell attended Southern Methodist University. He received his doctorate in dental surgery from Temple University, College of Dentistry, and graduate education in orthodontics from New York University. He is a past president of the Union County Dental Society and has served as trustee of the New Jersey Dental Association as well as a delegate to the American Dental Association. In addition, Dr. Sydell served as a member of the New Jersey Medicaid Drug Utilization Review Board. He received the Union County Dental Society's President's Award and the New Jersey Dental Association Service Award. In 2001 he was recognized by the UMDNJ New Jersey Dental College for outstanding contributions to the college and dentistry. He has been elected to Fellowship in the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. Dr. Sydell currently serves on the Professional Advisory Board of Matheny School and Hospital. He is a trustee of the New Jersey Foundation of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities and is a member of the UMDNJ-New Jersey Dental School Feasibility Study Committee.
