Dow Jones Description
The Diesel Technology Forum is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to raising awareness about the economic importance and essential uses of diesel engines, highlighting the continuous improvements in fuel efficiency and emissions reductions, continuous progress to reduce the environmental impact of the existing fleet of diesel engines, and leading the way for future clean diesel technology in all applications. Since it was founded in 2000, the Forum has emerged as a leading information source on clean diesel and energy issues, and its leadership regularly participates in legislative and regulatory deliberations, technology demonstrations, and industry and media events. The Forum brings together a broad range of diesel stakeholders including diesel users, public and environmental interest groups, and government regulators to encourage the exchange of information, findings and ideas about the current and future use of diesel technology. Elected officials, regulators, members of the media and other opinion leaders count on the Forum for data, insight and expert commentary.

Diesel-Electric Hybrid Vehicles
Diesel power plays a central role in one of the most important new powertrain technologies for reducing vehicle emissions and fuel consumption from heavy-duty vehicles: hybrid-electric technology. Hybrid-electric vehicles HEVs are vehicles that are powered both by an electric motor and by an internal combustion engine, including diesel engines. Today's...
Diesel Technology and the California Economy
Diesel engines drive most of the tractors that plow fields and move dirt, and have made a dramatic contribution to the increase in productivity that has exemplified California agriculture since World War II. Diesel fuels the trucks, trains and ships that move most of the freight carried in the state....
Diesel Technology Forum: Cleaner Air, Better Performance: Strategies for Upgrading and Modernizing Diesel Engines
America needs diesel engines and cleaner air; advanced clean diesel technology offers both. Diesel power drives the economy by building our nation's infrastructure of roads and bridges, taking crops from the field to food on the table and providing vital transportation of people and goods in the most efficient and...

Reducing California Petroleum Consumption With Increased Use of High Efficiency Clean Diesel Technology
Under a market scenario allowing for a 25% market penetration rate in diesel automobiles and light trucks, California could save over 530 million gallons of gasoline-equivalent fuel per year by 2030. If diesel passenger vehicle penetration reaches 32%, a level akin to that seen today in Europe, then California could...
Engineering Clean Air: The Continuous Improvement of Diesel Engine Emission Performance
The diesel industry has made great progress on a path of continuous improvement to virtually eliminate the key pollutants associated with on-road diesel engines. This transformation is of critical importance, because diesel plays a central role in economic activity. This paper explains the inherent performance advantages of diesel; provides an...
