Digi International

Sven A. Wehrwein has been a director of our company since August 2006. He has over 25 years of experience in corporate finance and investment banking, including serving as Chief Financial Officer of InStent Inc. and Digi International. Since 1999, he has provided financial-consulting services to emerging growth companies. Mr. Wehrwein also serves on the Board of Directors of Vital Images, Inc., Synovis Life Technologies, Inc., Image Sensing Systems, Inc. and Van Wagoner Funds, Inc. He holds a Masters of Management degree in Finance from the Sloan School at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Larry Kraft joined Digi as Vice President of Americas Sales and Marketing in February 2003. He has responsibility for Americas Sales and worldwide Marketing Communications. Mr. Kraft has 14 years technology and data communications experience. Prior to joining Digi, Mr. Kraft was Vice President of Marketing for Advanced Switching Communications (ASC), a startup where he built a marketing and product management organization. Prior to ASC, while at U.S. Robotics/3Com, Mr. Kraft implemented ISP sales and marketing programs for 56K technology that resulted in over 1,000 ISPs live and a 75% market share within 6 months. He also implemented a new telemarketing and sales closure process resulting in over 500 new customers in 3 months. Prior experiences include Vice President of Marketing for NetFax Inc., Vice President of Marketing for ISDN Systems Corporation, and Group Product Manager for the Internet access program at Sprint Corporation. Mr. Kraft holds a B.S. in Computer Science and an M.B.A., both from Cornell University.

Stephen Popovich, an innovator in the data communications field, has more than 20 years experience in technology sales, operations and marketing. Prior to Digi, Popovich, 46, co-founded Inside Out Networks™ in Austin, Texas, in 1997 and introduced Inside Out Networks’ high-quality enterprise Universal Serial Bus (USB) products only 10 months after the company’s inception. He successfully sold the company to Digi International in October 2000 and is currently responsible for overall management, strategy, new product development and marketing for Digi’s USB product line. Prior to founding Inside Out Networks, Popovich served as regional sales manager for Digi International. In this position, he was responsible for selling Digi’s products within the POS markets. In addition, Popovich served as co-founder and president of LAN Access Corporation, a provider of remote access solutions. LAN Access Corporation was also sold to Digi in 1995. Before founding LAN Access Corporation, Popovich served as general manager and business unit manager for Andrew Corporation and was vice president of operations for Local Data, Inc. In these positions, he was responsible for profit and loss of enterprise connectivity products sold to Fortune 50 companies worldwide. Popovich attended El Camino College in Torrance, California, and California State University.

Tracy L. Roberts has served as our Vice President of Human Resources and IT since March 2005 and as a director since June 1999. Ms. Roberts in a progressive human resource professional with the ability to perform in the role of a strategic business partner. Her ability to understand the business and provide excellent leadership has lead to additional responsibilities including performing in the role as the Director of IT since 2004. Prior to joining us, Ms. Roberts served as the Director of Human Resources at Novartis Nutrition Corporation where she was responsible for the medical nutritional business unit. In addition, Ms. Roberts had an extensive career with Cray Research including various roles with Human Resources. Ms. Roberts holds a B.S.B. degree in Management from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management.

Kris Krishnan was named Senior Vice President of Finance, Administration and Accounting and Chief Financial Officer in February 1999. Mr. Krishnan, 45, has more than 20 years experience in all aspects of corporate financial operations. Most recently, he served as a principal with LAWCO Financial and Investment Banking firm in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Prior to LAWCO, Krishnan served for 13 years with the Valspar Corporation as the Director of Corporate Financial Planning and Reporting and Taxes and was primarily responsible for mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures. Mr. Krishnan is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a graduate of the Wharton School of Finance’s Financial Management Program. He holds a M.B.A. from Mankato State University and a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from Bangalore University in India.

Ahmed Nawaz is executive vice president of Spansion’s Wireless Solutions Division and is responsible for expanding Spansion’s growth for this division. He also oversees the division’s marketing, platform engineering, infrastructure development and program management functions. He brings 30 years in high-tech, including more than 17 years as an executive to the position. Prior to Spansion®, Nawaz was executive vice president of worldwide sales at Agere Systems. Prior to this, he was president of the integrated circuits division of Lucent's Microelectronics Group, with full responsibility for the company's $2.5 billion IC business. At Lucent, he also led the profitable Wireless, Network Communications, Computing and the Access business units, and global manufacturing operations and was also vice president of marketing and strategy where he was responsible for formulating and driving an applications-focused strategic direction for the Microelectronics Group. Additionally, Nawaz spent 14 years at Texas Instruments, where he held various engineering, applications, marketing and general management positions. He has been a speaker and panelist at many industry conferences, including, SIGGRAPH, NCGA, MicroSystems Forum, and other PC, wireless and communication conferences, and is a member of the board of directors of Digi International. Nawaz holds a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri and a master's degree in Business Administration from Houston Baptist University.
