Joel Ronning is founder, chairman of the board of directors and chief executive officer of Digital River, Inc. Ronning launched Digital River in 1994 with a vision to use the Internet instead of mail to deliver software. A decade later, Ronning has established Digital River as a profitable, global leader in e-commerce outsourcing and has grown the company beyond its core market of software publishers to include online retailers, distributors and manufacturers. Under Ronning’s leadership, Digital River has created a strong market position not only as an e-commerce expert, but also as an e-marketing specialist, focused on helping its clients acquire customers and grow online revenues. Prior to founding Digital River, Ronning successfully launched two other Minnesota companies, where he held executive positions. During his career, he has produced seven patents in encryption technology and digital delivery.

Tom Donnelly is chief financial officer for Digital River. In his role, Donnelly is responsible for the worldwide financial operations of the company as well as human resources, tax, investor relations and legal. Under Donnelly's guidance, the company has achieved record revenues and earnings and strategically expanded its global footprint, adding new offices and operations in Ireland and Luxembourg. Donnelly previously served as Digital River's treasurer and vice president of finance where he was responsible for cash management, payment processing, foreign exchange, and financial analysis and planning for the company. In his position, Donnelly brings more than 20 years of finance and operations experience in primarily the technology industry. Prior to joining Digital River, Donnelly served as the chief financial officer and chief operating officer of Net Perceptions, Inc. Prior to Net Perceptions, Donnelly held senior operating or transaction-related positions at several high-tech corporations.

Edward F. West has served as our Chief Executive Officer and President since January 2008. He served as our interim Chief Executive Officer and President from August 2007 to January 2008. He was chair of the board from June 2005 to July 2008, and has been a member of the board since November 2001. Mr. West received an A.B. in Architecture/Urban Planning from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Douglas M. Steenland was president and chief executive officer of Northwest Airlines until 2008. He was named president of Northwest in 2001 and chief executive officer in 2004. Prior to joining Northwest in 1991, Mr. Steenland was a senior partner at the Washington, D.C. law firm of Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, McPherson, and Hand (now part of Piper Rudnick, Washington, D.C.). He also has served in the Office of the General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Transportation. He serves on the board of directors of the Minnesota Orchestra, and is president of the Guthrie Theater.

Mr. Thorin has served as a director of the Company since June 1996. Since July 2005, Mr. Thorin has been in private legal practice in Santa Clara, California. From September 2000 to June 2005, Mr. Thorin has served as Vice President and General Counsel of ArrayComm, Inc., a wireless technology company. From July 2000 to September 2000, Mr. Thorin served as Vice President and General Counsel of Mindmaker, Inc., a developer of artificial intelligence technologies. From April 1996 to July 2000, Mr. Thorin served as General Counsel of Fujitsu America Inc., a subsidiary of Fujitsu Limited, and from June 1997 to July 2000 he served as its Vice President and General Counsel.

Mr. Steiner (41) has served as our director since April 1998 and served as our President from August 1998 to February 2001. Since February 2001, Mr. Steiner has been a Partner with Arlington Capital Partners, a private equity fund. Prior thereto, Mr. Steiner served as a senior member of Wasserstein Perella & Co., Inc., an investment banking firm, and as a principal of TCW Capital, a group of leveraged buyout funds managed by Trust Company of the West. Mr. Steiner serves as a director of Main Line Broadcasting, Cherry Creek Radio and Long Island Radio.

With more than 16 years of management experience in the Internet and computer industries, Aptimus Founder Timothy C. Choate is a renowned industry expert in online direct marketing and an eCommerce pioneer. He has been chairman of Aptimus since 1994. Prior to joining Aptimus, Mr. Choate served as a vice president of Micro Warehouse. In 1994, he co-founded Online Interactive, Inc., the former parent company of Aptimus, and was its chairman, president and CEO until June 1997. Before 1994, Mr. Choate was president of Softdisk Publishing LLC, a software publishing company. His experience includes working as senior marketing manager at Prodigy, an Internet access and content provider; and developing and launching the New Products Division for Business Week, a division of the McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. Mr. Choate serves on the board of directors of Digital River, Inc., a provider of eCommerce outsourcing solutions; and Traveling Software, Inc., a software publishing company. Additionally, he earned a Bachelor of Science in economics, with a concentration in marketing and entrepreneurial management, from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
