John S. Turner, Jr., Member of Vesta Hospitality, LLC, was born and raised in Arcadia, Louisiana, and graduated from Arcadia High School. He attended Louisiana State University, the University of Arkansas and received a diploma from Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana. He graduated from pilot training and served three years in the United States Air Force, receiving an honorable discharge as a Captain. Mr. Turner has resided in Shreveport, Louisiana for the last 40 years and has been actively involved in real estate development, diverse commercial property portfolio including numerous financial institutions, restaurants and other holdings. He is involved in over 1,000 multi-family units and over 1,000,000 square feet of warehouses and numerous shopping centers. With a partner, Mr. Turner developed Quail Creek Apartments and Quail Creek Shopping Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. The apartments are considered one of Shreveport's finest complexes. Mr. Turner also owns and operates San Miguel Oil and Gas Company, Shreveport, Louisiana, and was president of Falco, Inc. for ten years, overseeing oil well drilling and pipeline construction. Mr. Turner was Harrah's partner in the first river boat in Shreveport. He is also a major stockholder in two racetracks in New Mexico (The Downs at Albuquerque and SunRay Park), having served as Chairman for two years for Albuquerque Downs. Mr. Turner's oil company was recently involved as a major player in the takeover of a $100 million Shreveport oil and real estate company. Mr. Turner's health care company owns and operates two hospitals with several satellite locations. As owner and co-founder of Dimension Development Co., Mr. Turner's hotel company owns and manages some 40 hotels from Miami to Seattle. Mr. Turner was also responsible for developing and operating the first Residence Inn outside of company properties, located in Bossier City, Louisiana. He has since developed Residence Inns all over the country; he also owns and operates Homewood Suites properties across the nation. Mr. Turner served a four-year term on the Board of Directors of the Residence Inn by Marriott Association.
