Dolan Media Company was formed in May 1992 by Jim Dolan and Cherry Tree Investments. Although he was by background an award-winning journalist and a lifelong "media guy" who once worked for Rupert Murdoch's News Corp., at the time Dolan was a New York-based investment banker specializing in media transactions and financings. Cherry Tree wanted to invest in and build information-based businesses, and Dolan wanted to return to building and operating a media company. Dolan and Cherry Tree had spent several years examining media investments together, rejecting half a dozen different opportunities across the country for various reasons. When daily business newspaper Finance and Commerce in Minneapolis became available, Dolan and Cherry Tree agreed this was a good foundation for the type of company they wished to build. (The paper's location in Minneapolis, near Cherry Tree, was a coincidence and played no role in the decision to buy Finance and Commerce.) Subsequently, the Company expanded by aggressively seeking and closing acquisitions, and by running the newspapers well after acquiring them. In the early years the Company made many attempts to sell public records data but was frustrated and thwarted by the selling and technical challenges. Eventually we sorted things out and began to get them right. The acquisition of Minnesota Secured Transaction Reports in January 1995 brought us the first profits in this area of operations. John L. Kominicki, Publisher, Long Island Business News. Mr. Kominicki is president and publisher of Long Island Business News, a diverse newspaper, magazine and specialty publishing company that has served the region since 1953. He also serves as director of editorial operations for the firm's corporate parent, Dolan Media Co. of Minneapolis, which owns more than 75 law, business and specialty publications across the country. Before coming to Long Island, Mr. Kominicki ran business newspapers in Fort Worth, Texas and Oklahoma City, Okla. Prior to joining the business side of publishing, he was a longtime writer and editor for such publications as European Stars and Stripes, the New York Times, USA Today, and the Dallas Morning News, among others. Mr. Kominicki serves on a variety of local boards, including the Long Island Association, the Long Island Business Development Council and LISTnet. He has been named an advocate for small business by the Small Business Administration and was honored as a Distinguished Citizen by Dowling College, from which he received an honorary doctorate of humane letters. In June 2008, the Press Club of Long Island presented Mr. Kominicki with its Journalist of the Year Award and his community and charitable work have garnered him numerous other honors.

Miss Norris began her training at Midwest Youth Dance Theatre in St. Paul, Minnesota and has since studied a variety of dance styles, teaching techniques, dance and movement theory, and dance history. Her background includes jazz, tap, modern, Pilates, musical theater, with an extensive study of classical ballet and pointe technique. She has taught many ages as well as set choreography for many venues including recital, competition, theater, liturgical and workshop performances. She continues her dance education by attending regular classes at Hennepin Center for the Performing Arts. It is her passion to help others discover, develop and utilize their abilities for the glory of God and it is a great joy to help young dancers develop their gifts to honor their Creator.

David Michael Winton has served as our director since July 2003, and also served as director of our predecessor company from May 1994 to July 2003. Mr. Winton serves as the managing general partner of Parsnip River Co., an investment partnership he has run, along with its predecessor, Addison and Co., since 1966. From 1965 through 1987, Mr. Winton served as chairman of The Pas Lumber Company Ltd., a timber and milling operation, and from 1957 through 1959, he was an associate of Kroeger Management Consultants, New York, a private investment firm.
