Richard A. Hazleton is a retired chairman and CEO of Dow Corning Corporation in Midland, Michigan. He also served as president of Dow Corning Europe and brings expertise as a manager and finance director to the Institute board. Mr. Hazleton's community involvement includes service as the former president of Midland Junior Achievement and former president of the United Way of Midland County. His is currently a director of the Chemical Bank & Trust Company and President and CEO of the Charles J. Strosacker Foundation.

Independent Non-Executive Director. Dr Burns is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Dow Corning. She joined Dow Corning in 1983 as a researcher working on water based and high temperature elastomers. She became director of Women's Health in 1994 and subsequently moved into corporate management becoming Science and Technology Director for Europe in 1997. She was first elected to Dow Corning's Board of Directors in December 2000, she was then elected President and Chief Executive Officer in February 2003, Chief Operating Officer in January 2004 and Chairman in January 2006. Dr Burns holds a Ph.D. in organic chemistry, with an organosilicon specialty, from Iowa State University. She completed her post-doctoral studies at the Universite Montpellier, Sciences et Techniques du Languedoc, France. She is a board member of the American Chemical Society and The Conference Board and sits on the Executive Committee of the Society of Chemical Industry, and on the Board of Directors for the Society of Women's Health Research. She has also served on the Michigan Molecular Institute.

Mr. Gilson was named vice president of Dow Corning Specialty Chemicals in 2005, and is responsible for advancing and sustaining Dow Corning's growth in the Specialty Chemicals marketplace. Also in 2005, he has added responsibility as Asia Area president. Mr. Gilson leads the team's research and development, supply chain, and commercial activities, while working to create and deliver unique value propositions for Dow Corning's customers, distributors and formulators. Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Gilson served as general manager and corporate vice president for Dow Corning's Advanced Technologies and New Ventures Business. Mr. Gilson joined Dow Corning in 1989 as a process engineer in Seneffe, Belgium. Since, he has applied his expertise in a variety of management and leadership roles within Dow Corning. In 1999, Mr. Gilson was appointed science and technology director for the Fluids and Emulsions Business. Two years later, he became general manager for Dow Corning's New Ventures Business, and was elected a Dow Corning corporate vice president in 2002. Mr. Gilson earned a master's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Liege, Belgium, and a master's degree in business administration from the Institute for Management Development in Switzerland.

Jerry joined the board in 2008. A retired vice president of marketing for Dow Corning Corporation, he is an active bird watcher. Taught to love the land from his father, Jerry said that he "went from being an avid hunter to studying birds through binoculars." He has traveled extensively enjoying his birding avocation. With two grown children, Jerry and his wife, Yoshie, spend much time outdoors in Midland.

Prior to joining Dow Corning in August 2002, Ms. McDonnell spent more than twenty years in private practice, primarily as an antitrust litigator and advisor, representing corporate clients. After leaving private practice in 1995, she was Deputy General Counsel and then General Counsel of The Mead Corporation, a Fortune 500 company in the forest products industry.

Christian Velasquez has a long history of community involvement. He is a Trustee on the Council of Michigan Foundations Board, a Director on the Little Forks Conservancy, Midland Rotary Club and Michigan Chamber of Commerce boards. In recognition of his outstanding dedication to the community, Christian has been awarded the 2007 RUBY Award and the 2008 Midland Leader of the Year award. Christian is the Americas Commercial Manager at Dow Corning Corporation.

"James B. Flaws joined Corning Incorporated in 1973. He has held a variety of positions within Corning's Consumer Products group, including division controller, general manager-Department Store Business, division vice president-Business Development, and vice president and chief financial officer. Mr. Flaws was elected assistant treasurer of Corning Incorporated in 1993. He was responsible for the spin-off of Corning's health-care businesses in 1996. He was named vice president and controller in February 1997 and in May of that year was elected vice president-Finance and treasurer of Corning Incorporated. In December 1997, he was named senior vice president, treasurer and chief financial officer. He was named executive vice president and chief financial officer in December 1999, and was elected to the Corning board of directors in December 2000. In April 2002, he was named vice chairman and chief financial officer. In addition to his financial duties, he is responsible for mergers and acquisitions and the legal function at Corning. Mr. Flaws is on the board of directors for Dow Corning Corporation and Corning Museum of Glass. He is active with the local United Way. He has served as a United Way board member for 17 years, was board chairman for three years and treasurer for 10 years. He is a member of the board of directors of the Community Foundation. Mr. Flaws graduated from Tufts University with a bachelor's degree in engineering and received a master's degree from Dartmouth College. He was named a member of The Conference Board’s prestigious Council of Financial Executives in May 1999."

"Dr. Joseph A. Miller, Jr. joined Corning Incorporated in July 2001 as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. He was named to his current position in March 2002. Prior to joining Corning, Dr. Miller was with E.I. DuPont de Nemours, Inc., where he served as Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President for Research & Development since 1994. He began his career with DuPont in 1966 as a Research Chemist in Polymer Science. He also held a variety of positions in research and development, manufacturing, business and marketing. Dr. Miller received a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Military Institute and a doctorate in Chemistry from Penn State University. He is a member of numerous science and technology organizations including the National Science Board, National Academy of Engineering, American Association for the Advancement of Science-Fellow and the Industrial Research Institute. Gary Veurink is Corporate Vice President, Manufacturing and Engineering. Veurink became a member of the Office of the Chief Executive (OCE) in September 2004. Veurink joined Dow's Michigan Division in 1972 in Research in the Electro Mechanical Research Lab. In subsequent years he has worked in both technical and managerial roles in a number of Dow's businesses, functions and locations. His business and technology experiences include ChlorAlkali, Hydrocarbons, Agricultural Chemicals, Plastics Films, Engineering Plastics and Performance Chemicals. His functional experiences, in addition to Research, include Manufacturing, Engineering & Maintenance, Environmental Management, Quality Management, Materials Management and Purchasing. He has served as the leader of four of Dow's global technology centers, concurrent with several of his business and functional leadership roles. He was appointed Global Manufacturing Director for Engineering Plastics in 1995. In 1998, he was named vice president, Global Purchasing. In 2000, he was named site director for Michigan Operations and Business Operations director for Performance Chemicals. In 2004, Veurink was named business operations leader and vice president of Manufacturing and Engineering for the Chemicals and Intermediates Portfolio of businesses and in late 2004 was named to his Corporate Vice President role. He is a member of the Board of Directors of The Dow Corning Corporation, of the Dorinco Reinsurance Company, and the National Association of Manufacturers. He is currently located in Midland, Michigan. Veurink earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. He has done graduate studies in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France. He has been named an Outstanding Alumnus by SDSM&T and granted an Honorary Doctorate degree in 2002. He serves on the institution's Academic Advisory Board. Veurink has served on numerous community boards and leadership positions in the local communities, while working for Dow in Michigan, Ohio and Texas. He is currently President and on the Executive Council of Boy Scouts of America, Lake Huron Area Council, as well as on the Board of Trustees of the Michigan Chapter of The Nature Conservancy. Veurink is a member of AIChE. He is married to wife Ruth and has three grown children.

Geoffery E. Merszei is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Dow Chemical Company. He is also a member of Dow's Board of Directors, its Environment Health & Safety Committee, the Executive Committee and the Office of the Chief Executive. He has executive oversight for Dow's activities in Europe. Merszei, who first joined Dow in 1977, returned to the Company in July 2005 after serving four years as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Alcan Inc. Prior to accepting the position at Alcan, Merszei's career with Dow had spanned 24 years. He joined the Company from the Royal Bank of Canada in 1977 as Credit Manager for Dow Middle East/Africa based in Geneva, Switzerland and in 1980 moved to Hong Kong as Credit Manager for Dow Asia Pacific. Two years later he was named Credit and Finance Manager for the region. In 1983, Merszei was appointed Treasurer for Dow Germany and Eastern Europe, based in Frankfurt. Three years later he moved to Corporate Treasury in Midland, Michigan as Foreign Exchange Manager, before returning to Hong Kong as Director of Finance for Dow Asia Pacific in 1988. In 1991, Merszei accepted the role of Director of Finance / Treasurer for Dow Europe based in Horgen, Switzerland, where he remained until being appointed Vice President and Treasurer of the Company and returning to Midland in 1996. He resigned from that role when he moved to Alcan in September 2001. Merszei is Chairman of Liana Limited, Dorinco Reinsurance Company and the Dow Credit Corporate Board. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Dow Corning Corporation; a member of the Board of Directors of Chemical Financial Corporation; a member of the Conference Board's Council of Financial Executives; and a member of the Corporate Executive Board Working Council for Chief Financial Officers. Merszei holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Albion College, Michigan, USA.

Romeo Kreinberg is Executive Vice President of Performance Plastics and Chemicals for The Dow Chemical Company. He is a member of the Office of the Chief Executive and has executive oversight for the Company's Corporate Marketing and Sales organization. Kreinberg joined Dow in 1977 and held several sales and marketing positions in Germany, Switzerland and Italy before being named business operations manager for Latex and New Ventures in the Corporate Product Department in Midland, Michigan. He was appointed regional commercial director for Dow Iberica and in 1990 was named regional commercial director for the new unified German geography. In 1991, he was named to the Management Board for Dow Deutschland. In 1992, Kreinberg was appointed general manager for Dow Italy and vice president of Dow Europe. He returned to Switzerland as vice president, Dow Europe for polyethylene and PET / PTA in 1994. Kreinberg was named Dow's global vice president for polyethylene and PET / PTA in 1995. In 2000, he was named business group president for Polyolefins and Elastomers. Kreinberg was named senior vice president for Plastics in 2003. He joined the Office of the Chief Executive in September 2004 and was named executive vice president in September 2005. He assumed executive oversight responsibility for Dow's Corporate Marketing and Sales organization in April 2006. Kreinberg is a member of the Board of Directors of Dow Corning Corporation and of Oman Petrochemical Industries Company LLC (OPIC). He is a board member of the United States Council for International Business. Kreinberg graduated from the National University of Architecture and City Planning of Buenos Aires. In his career, he has lived in nine different countries and is fluent in six languages. He currently resides in Midland, Michigan.
