Duvernay's management has chosen a conventional, drilling based exploration and production growth plan to build Duvernay and add value for shareholders. This plan has been pursued since the inception of Duvernay in June 2001. Management believes the current structure and environment of the oil and gas industry provides an opportunity for an effective, active exploration company to be successful. To date, Duvernay has chosen to concentrate its activities and limit its focus to northwest Alberta and northeastern British Columbia. Four main operating or exploration and production areas exist within this principal focus area: - Sunset - Groundbirch, British Columbia; - Wild River - Sundance - Fir, Alberta; - Apex of the Peace River High, Alberta; and - Dawson - Puskwaskau - Smoky, Alberta. Duvernay has production, new pool discoveries and large exploration and production project and prospect inventories in each of these four core areas. Management believes the broad base of four key operating areas helps to insulate Duvernay from disruptions or unexpected setbacks in any single focus area.
