Co. has six primary, wholly-owned subsidiaries: Nevada Power Company (NPC), Sierra Pacific Power Company (SPPC), Tuscarora Gas Pipeline Company, Sierra Pacific Communications, Sierra Pacific Energy Company, and Lands of Sierra. NPC and SPPC provides electric service to Las Vegas and surrounding Clark County, northern Nevada and the Lake Tahoe area of California, and also provides natural gas service in the Reno-Sparks area of Nevada. As of Dec 31 2007, NPC served approximately 826,000 electric customers, while SPPC served about 366,000 electric customers and about 149,000 natural gas customers.
