Mr. Mackey has been our Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Secretary since 2001. Mr. Mackey served as Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of FSQ from 2001 until it was acquired by us in January 2002. Mr. Mackey is a certified public accountant.

Mr. Murphy has been our Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Secretary since May 2008. During the prior year he served as our Director of Financial Services. Prior to joining Five Star, Mr. Murphy was Vice President and Controller at Harborside Healthcare Corporation, a publicly-traded senior living operator located in the Boston area. Mr. Murphy is a certified public accountant.

Since 2001, Ms. Esposito has served as senior vice president, chief operating officer and chief clinical officer at Five Star. She became chief clinical officer in June, 2002. She also served as senior vice president and chief operating officer of FSQ from 2001 until Five Star acquired it in January, 2002.

Since 2001, Ms. Hughes has served as vice president and director of human resources at Five Star. She served as vice president and director of human resources for FSQ from 2000 until Five Star acquired it in January, 2002.

Mr. Sheehan has been our Director of Internal Audit and Compliance since 2003. Mr. Sheehan's primary responsibility is to oversee all internal audit and regulatory compliance issues for Five Star. Between 1995 and 2003, Mr. Sheehan was employed by Ian Schrager Hotels as Executive Vice President of Finance and, previously, as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Sheehan's prior experience includes serving as Chief Financial Officer and Vice Chairman of Omni Hotels, as well as being a Partner at Arthur Andersen LLP. Mr. Sheehan is a certified public accountant.

Ms. Singer is a Physical Therapist with over 15 years of experience in health care. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Texas State University. Throughout her career, Jean has provided direct care in many settings, including outpatient rehabilitation, outpatient orthopedics, subacute care, long-term acute care, home health, dementia care and hospice care. She has managed therapy services in the long-term care industry as a Director of Rehabilitation and as an Area Manager. Her clinical expertise includes wound care, neurological disorders, restraint, and balance and falls management in the geriatric setting.

Ms. Boyle has 35 years of healthcare experience and has held various executive level positions at a post-acute rehabilitation hospital for over 18 years. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, and a Master of Science Degree in Management from Lesley University. Jeanne also holds professional licenses as a Registered Nurse and as a Nursing Home Administrator in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American College of Healthcare Administrators, and she is credentialed as a Resident Assessment Coordinator.

Mr. Koumantzelis has been a director since 2001. He is chairman of the Board’s Audit Committee. Since 1998, Mr. Koumantzelis has been the president and chief executive officer of Gainesborough Investments LLC, a private investment company. Mr. Koumantzelis is also a trustee of a number of privately held organizations and has other business interests.

Ms. Gilmore has been one of our directors since January 2004. Ms. Gilmore is Chairman of the Board's Compensation Committee. Ms. Gilmore has served as a clerk to Judge Joel B. Rosenthal of the United States Bankruptcy Court, Western Division of the District of Massachusetts, since August 2001. Ms. Gilmore is a registered nurse and practiced and taught nursing for several years before attending law school.

Dr. Gans has served as one of our directors since 2001. Dr. Gans is Chairman of the Board's Nominating and Governance Committee. Dr. Gans has been Chief Medical Officer at the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation since June 2001. He is also a Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School.
