The global economic downturn continued to adversely affect the demand for our products and services during the second quarter of 2009, with all operating segments reporting significant decreases in revenues and profitability compared to the second quarter of the prior year with the exception of our Offshore Services segment, which showed increased demand and unprecedented profitability. In particular, our Production Testing and Fluids segments have been impacted by the significant decline in oil and gas drilling activity, which has resulted in reduced demand for completion fluids and production testing services. We are in the process of renegotiating our supply agreements with a significant supplier for our Fluids Division, Chemtura Corporation (Chemtura), as a result of Chemtura's bankruptcy proceedings. As a result, we expect the purchase price we pay to Chemtura for bromine to increase, although this increase may be partially offset by the effect of other contractual modifications being discussed. Maritech's oil and gas production revenues continue to be affected by damages suffered as a result of Hurricane Ike, which shut-in a key producing field, and the impact of decreased oil and natural gas prices compared to the prior year. Production volumes have also declined compared to the prior year period due to a decrease in the number of newly drilled wells, as a result of our efforts to conserve capital. ...
