Edge Petroleum Corporation (Edge, we or the Company) is a Houston-based independent energy company that focuses its exploration, development, production, acquisition and marketing activities in selected onshore basins of the United States. In late 1998, we undertook a top-level management change and began a shift in strategy from pure exploration, which focused more on prospect generation, to a strategy which focused on a balanced program of exploration, exploitation and development and acquisition of oil and natural gas properties. In late 2007, in an attempt to enhance shareholder value we began to assess our strategic alternatives and have subsequently expanded this process to include a further evaluation of both our financial and strategic alternatives in late 2008 and continuing into 2009. Our current primary focus is on capital preservation and resolving the uncertainty and challenges we face.

David Work retired from BP Amoco as a Regional President in September of 2000. At BP Amoco he coordinated activities with seven exploration and production business units, and with the leaders of the gas, power, oil and chemical businesses located in the Gulf Coast, Southwest and the Rocky Mountain States. Some of Mr. Work's previous experiences include: BP Amoco Group Vice-President of Exploration and Production in London; BP Amoco Executive Committee member; Amoco's Senior Vice President of Shared Services; named Group Vice President of worldwide exploration for Amoco in 1992; President of Amoco Egypt, 1990-1992; Vice President of Amoco's Houston region and Vice President of Exploration for Africa and the Middle East Region. David Work started his career in 1970 as a geologist working in exploration in Western U.S. and Alaska for Amoco in Denver, Colorado. He also led exploration efforts for BWAB Inc. from 1983 to 1986. He has a Masters of Science from the University of California, and a B.A. from Wesleyan. Mr. Work serves on various boards, and he remains actively involved in professional organizations such as the American Petroleum Institute and the Geological Society of America.

Mr. Creel was elected President and Chief Executive Officer of our general partner in August 2007 and continues to serve as a director of our general partner. A certified public accountant with over 28 years of experience in the energy industry, Mr. Creel served as executive vice president and chief financial officer for the general partner, since 2001 and 2000, respectively, and was elected senior vice president when he joined us in 1999. Mr. Creel is also a Group Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer of EPCO and serves as a Director of the general partner of Duncan Energy Partners L.P. He was President, Chief Executive Officer and a director of EPE Holdings from August 2005 through August 2007. Mr. Creel is a member of Financial Executives International, the AICPA and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
