With over 25 years in enterprise technology sales and operations, Mike Thompson leads Egenera as President, CEO and Chairman. He joined the Company in early 2002 as COO, just as product shipments were getting underway. Since then, Egenera has evolved into one of the fastest-growing technology companies of the past 20 years, with sales, distribution and support worldwide. Prior to Egenera, Thompson was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing at Stratus Technologies, where he also served on the board of directors. During his Stratus tenure, Thompson managed a 400-person operation generating more than $700 million in annual revenues through direct and indirect channels. Prior to Stratus, Thompson served as Director of U.S. Sales Operations for the financial line of business at Tandem Computers, directing sales and support to the nation's top 120 finance accounts. Earlier, at Burroughs Corporation, he focused on driving sales to the Fortune 50. Thompson holds a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from Southern Connecticut University.

Christine Crandell is executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Egenera, Inc. In this role, she is responsible for the company's global market strategy including branding, corporate and market communications, demand generation, product marketing, partner/channel marketing, sales training and enablement, business development and alliances. Prior to joining Egenera, she served as vice president of marketing for Ariba responsible for strategic planning and worldwide marketing, sales training and product marketing. From 1996 to 2004, Ms. Crandell was president of New Business Strategies. She has held a variety of senior management positions with leading technology companies, including Oracle Corporation, SAP America and SAP AG and began her career in Management Consulting for PriceWaterhouse. Ms. Crandell holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and an M.B.A. from Florida Atlantic University. She has completed her doctoral studies and holds a D.B.A (abd) from Golden Gate University. Christine is a business advisor and frequent public speaker and writer on issues of technology, strategy and marketing.

With a wealth of knowledge and experience from over 30 years in operations, finance, manufacturing and customer service, Al Lanzetta leads Egenera's Operations and Services on a global basis. Lanzetta joined Egenera from EMC Corporation, where he served as Vice President of Global Field Operations and Field Support for EMC Global Services guiding a worldwide staff of 3,000 professionals responsible for customer service field operations, field support, logistics and contracts administration. Prior to this, he was Vice President of Global Customer Service for the Data General division of EMC, directing the worldwide activities of a $250 million profit center and exceeding targets for customer satisfaction and revenue. Earlier, Lanzetta was Vice President of the Manufacturing Services Division and Repairiion Unit for Data General Corporation, where he created a business that marketed and sold repair and logistics services to third parties. During his career at Data General, Lanzetta held positions ranging from Corporate Manufacturing Controller to Director of the Manufacturing Services Division. After serving in the United States Marine Corps, Lanzetta earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Clark University and a master of business administration degree from Babson College.

James Ryan, vice president of Asia Pacific operations, adds 15 years of experience in opening new markets in the Asia Pacific region for U.S.-based technology companies. Ryan's knowledge of the area will be particularly relevant as Egenera continues expanding its Asia Pacific presence and forging beneficial partnerships in the territory. Ryan joins Egenera from Telemedia Networks International where he served as vice president of sales. In this position, he successfully delivered the IPO prospectus year revenue number and set up and staffed offices in Japan, Asia, Europe and Latin America. Prior to this, Ryan was the vice president of Asia Pacific at Excel Switching Corporation, where he founded the regional office and developed a network of channels that produced $15 million--over 10 percent of global revenue--in his first full fiscal year at the company. He began his career at Octel Communications, a world leader in telecommunications voicemail platforms, where he built-out the Tokyo office while breaking into the competitive Japanese telecommunications service provider market. Ryan has a bachelor's degree from Harvard University and a master's degree from Osaka University in Japan.

As vice president of finance and corporate controller, John Mitchell is responsible for all domestic and international financial matters including financial controls, financial and management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, financial support of sales operations, maintenance of the company's general ledger, treasury, risk management and taxes. Mitchell brings with him 20 years of strong financial experience in public company environments, including SEC reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. He joins Egenera from Skillsoft, a publicly traded company, where he served as VP finance and corporate controller. Prior to that, he worked at River Ridge Consulting Group and ePresence, Inc (formerly Banyan Systems). Mitchell started his career in public accounting with Ernst & Young. Mitchell received his MBA in Finance from Clark University and BSBA in accounting from Northeastern University.

As Egenera's vice president of sales operations and channel support, Mariam Ganem is responsible for supporting Egenera's direct and indirect channels, managing inside sales and developing and implementing a global reseller program in support of Egenera's quality, high-end distribution network. Ganem joined Egenera from Stratus Technologies, where she contributed her talents for 18 years in positions of increasing responsibility. Most recently, she served as vice president of worldwide sales operations and channel support with responsibility for forecasting, sales force automation, compensation plan design and implementation, sales performance management and sales training. Ganem also designed and launched the ftServer Partner Program, recruiting and supporting more than 150 resellers in less than two years to market and distribute the company's first low-end solution. In addition, she introduced an inside sales group to support both the direct and indirect channels. Earlier, Ganem held a variety of sales and business development positions at Stratus including regional director for Latin America, where she was instrumental in acquiring the Stratus distributor in Mexico; director of business development and sales support for the Western operation; and area systems director, Western region. She began her career at Raytheon Data Systems. Ganem holds a bachelor of science degree in computer science from the University of Texas, El Paso.

As vice president of Japan Operations, Minoru Ohki is responsible for sales, business development, channel management, field marketing, customer support and professional services. Ohki-san brings with him extensive experience in the building of high-caliber teams and designing and implementing go-to-market strategies aimed at accelerating revenue. He has a proven track record in the management of sales teams selling enterprise class-solutions to major accounts in Japan, both directly and through channel partners. Ohki-san started his career 20-plus years ago at Digital and has worked his way through positions of increasing responsibility at leading technology companies including Lucent, NCR, BEA and most recently EMC. He has consistently outperformed objectives throughout his career and has received numerous awards for his exceptional performance. Ohki-san received his bachelor of law from Komazawa University.

As vice president of marketing, Susan Davis is responsible for all aspects of corporate and product marketing, including public and analyst relations, marketing communications, sales support and training, and lead generation. Davis brings to Egenera a 20-year background in multiple facets of technology, including software development, marketing, product management and strategic relations. Prior to joining Egenera, she was director of product management at Lucent Technologies/Ascend Communications with responsibility for next-generation network products, including the release and launch of the telecommunications industry's first commercially available softswitch. Earlier, Davis served as director of ISV relations for Stratus Computer, where she developed and managed relationships with the computer industry's top 50 ISVs in support of Stratus product lines. She began her career at Honeywell/Bull, where she held a number of engineering positions in software development and support. Davis holds a bachelor of science degree in economics from Cornell University.

Brian K. Paul is a managing director in Private Equity and a partner in Lehman Brothers Venture Partners. Prior to joining Private Equity in 1999, Mr. Paul worked in Lehman Brothers' Global Technology and Healthcare Investment Banking Groups, in New York, London and Los Angeles. Within these investment banking groups, Mr. Paul was responsible for public and private equity offerings as well as strategic advisory assignments. Before joining Lehman Brothers in 1994, Mr. Paul was an associate at First Boston where he was responsible for the purchase and sale of mortgage loan portfolios. He currently is a director of AOptix Technologies, Creekpath Systems, Elemental Security, Isilon Systems, Meru Networks and ShoreTel Communications, and is a board observer of Egenera. He was previously a director of E2O Communications, Inc., sold to JDSU. Mr. Paul holds an M.B.A. with distinction from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a B.S. in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

In his role as CEO of SolidWorks Japan, Iida-san is responsible for the overall sales and marketing operations of SolidWorks Japan. Iida-san brings more than 30 years of experience in the high-tech industry to SolidWorks. He has extensive experience in operations management, sales, and marketing, and has demonstrated strong leadership in establishing successful business growth. Prior to joining SolidWorks, Iida-san worked as the president of UGS Japan, where he was responsible for overseeing all business activities as well as developing and directing the organization's sales strategy. While at UGS, he helped the Japanese team increase revenues and secure many well-known customers. He also served as president of Stratus Technologies, Inc., Japan, and held various leadership positions at Tandem Computer, Prime Computer, and IBM.

Bob Crants has been directly involved in private equity investments for fifteen years. He was previously with Goldman Sachs, where he was a founding member of the Special Investments Group, and was active in the development and marketing of proprietary equity derivative products, equity private placements, exchange funds and merchant banking funds totaling over $6.0 billion in gross funds raised. As a result of his work, in 1993 he received the Goldman Sachs Investment Banking Division Innovation Award. Mr. Crants is a founder of Pharos Capital Group. He graduated from Princeton University with an A.B., summa cum laude, in Economics.
