Ambrose Griffith, who served as Village President from 1921-1925, was born in Elburn in 1887. Mr. Griffith was educated in Elburn Public Schools and was the Superintendent of Schools in Plato Center, Illinois. Mr. Griffith was a Blackberry Township Supervisor during 1924 and 1925 and, in 1930; he helped persuade Illinois Legislators to permit Route 47 to go through Elburn. Mr. Griffith died in Wood Veteran' s Hospital in Wisconsin in 1967.

Paul Gee, who served as Village President from 1949-1953, was a third generation contractor, a Village Trustee, and active in the Elburn Fire Department, Lion' s Club and Mason' s. Mr. Gee grew up in Elburn and attended the local schools. Mr. Gee played piano and later the electric guitar in Gee' s Jazz Band. The second floor of the Old Town Hall was a popular place for dances where Gee' s Jazz Band played on many a Saturday night.
