"John C. Lechleiter, Ph.D, is chairman, president and chief executive officer of Eli Lilly and Company. Lechleiter chairs the company’s operations committee, as well as its executive committee. Lechleiter served previously as president and chief operating officer of Lilly, beginning in 2005, when he also joined the board. In 2004, he became Lilly’s executive vice president, pharmaceutical operations. Prior to that, he had served as executive vice president for pharmaceutical products and corporate development since 2001. Lechleiter received a bachelor of science degree summa cum laude in chemistry from Xavier University (Cincinnati, Ohio) in 1975. He studied organic chemistry as a National Science Foundation Fellow at Harvard University, where he received his master’s and doctorate degrees. In 2006, Lechleiter received an honorary doctorate of business administration from Marian College of Indianapolis. Joining Lilly in 1979 as a senior organic chemist in process research and development, Lechleiter became head of that department in 1982. In 1984, he began serving as director of pharmaceutical product development for the Lilly Research Centre Limited in Windlesham, England. He returned to the United States in 1986 as manager of research and development projects for Europe. In 1988, he became director of development projects management, and in 1989 he assumed additional responsibility for pharmaceutical regulatory affairs. In 1991, he was named executive director of pharmaceutical product development, and in 1993, he became vice president. He was appointed vice president of regulatory affairs in 1994. In 1996, he was named vice president for development and regulatory affairs. Lechleiter became senior vice president of pharmaceutical products in 1998. Lechleiter is a member of the American Chemical Society. He serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) and as a member of the Business Roundtable and the Business Council. In 2004, he was appointed to the Visiting Committee of Harvard Business School and to the Health Policy and Management Executive Council of the Harvard School of Public Health. He also serves as a member of the board of trustees of Xavier University (Cincinnati, Ohio). In addition, he is a distinguished advisor of The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, a member of the board of directors and executive committee of Fairbanks Institute, and a member of the United Way of Central Indiana board of directors. "Elizabeth H. Klimes was named in June 2004 to develop and lead Lilly’s deployment of Six Sigma. She is a member of the company's operations committee and the senior management council. She had been president of specialty care products since December 2002. A native of Indiana, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University in 1981. She also received a master of business administration degree from Indiana University. Enrique Conterno was promoted to president of Lilly USA in January 2009. He joins Lilly's operations committee and will remain a member of the senior management council. The intercontinental region comprises of offices in Asia, Australia, Africa and Middle East Countries, Canada, Latin America and Russia. "Newton F. Crenshaw became vice president, global public policy, pricing, reimbursement & access (PRA), and international corporate affairs on July 7, 2008. Dr. William Macias is Senior Medical Director for the cardiovascular and acute care platform team at Eli Lilly and Company. In his role, Dr. Macias has worldwide responsibility for the clinical development of multiple compounds in cardiovascular and critical care medicine. Joan Gore is the Manager of the US Clinical Trial Planning and Packaging organization at Eli Lilly and Co. Dr. Levine is Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford, Illinois, where he teaches psychopharmacology and where he received the Golden Apple Award for Teaching Excellence. For the past six years, he has been working in community psychiatry, spending five of those years as Medical Director of the Janet Wattles Center in Rockford, the largest community mental health center in Illinois. "Franklyn G. Prendergast began his career at the Mayo Medical School as an instructor in physiology in 1975. In 1977 he became associate consultant in pharmacology at the Mayo Foundation and assistant professor in pharmacology of the Mayo Medical School. Three years later he was named consultant in pharmacology at the Mayo Foundation and associate professor in pharmacology at the Mayo Medical School. In 1985 he became consultant and chair of the department of biochemistry and molecular biology for the Mayo Foundation. He became professor in pharmacology and professor in biochemistry and molecular biology at the Mayo Medical School in 1986. He was named director of research for Mayo Rochester in 1992. He serves on the board of trustees of the Mayo Foundation. Prendergast has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including Edmond and Marion Guggenheim Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (1987) and Mayo Distinguished Investigator (1988). "John C. Lechleiter, Ph.D, is chairman, president and chief executive officer of Eli Lilly and Company. Lechleiter chairs the company’s operations committee, as well as its executive committee. In 1991, he was named executive director of pharmaceutical product development, and in 1993, he became vice president. He was appointed vice president of regulatory affairs in 1994. In 1996, he was named vice president for development and regulatory affairs. Lechleiter became senior vice president of pharmaceutical products in 1998. Lechleiter is a member of the American Chemical Society. He serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) and as a member of the Business Roundtable and the Business Council. In 2004, he was appointed to the Visiting Committee of Harvard Business School and to the Health Policy and Management Executive Council of the Harvard School of Public Health. He also serves as a member of the board of trustees of Xavier University (Cincinnati, Ohio).
