Michael Shahbazian has served as our Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since October 2005. From January 2003 to August 2005, Mr. Shahbazian was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Niku Corporation, an information technology management and governance software company. He also served as Chief Financial Officer of the following companies: ANDA Networks, a telecommunications equipment company, from November 2000 to November 2002; Inventa Technologies, a corporate systems integrator, from February 2000 to November 2000; and Walker Interactive, a provider of client-server/network computing software products, prior to February 2000. Prior to these roles, Mr. Shahbazian spent nearly 20 years with Amdahl Corporation in a variety of senior finance positions. Mr. Shahbazian holds a B.S. degree in Business from California State University, Fresno, and an M.B.A. degree from the University of Southern California. During the past five years, none of Embarcadero or our executive officers, directors or controlling persons has been convicted in a criminal proceeding (other than traffic violations or similar misdemeanors) or been a party to any judicial or administrative proceeding (except for matters that were dismissed without sanction or settlement) that resulted in a judgment, decree, or final order enjoining that person or entity from future violations of, or prohibiting activities subject to, federal or state securities laws, or a finding of any violation of federal or state securities laws.

James Pitts joined Embarcadero in 2001 and was appointed chief Technology Officer in 2009 and brings more than 15 years of commercial software development experience to Embarcadero. Prior to that, as Vice President of Development and Program Management, James lead the design and innovation of all Embarcadero products. For the past 12 years, he has been involved in the database tools industry, holding key positions at several start-up companies such as DataMirror. Prior to entering the database tools industry, James spent three years in telecommunications, including work with Bell Mobility and Unitel. He received a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Waterloo.

Jan Liband is a recognized industry veteran with more than 20 years of high-tech software marketing experience. As Vice President of Marketing for Embarcadero, Jan oversees integrated marketing, product evangelism, channel/partner alliances, and strategic initiatives such as brand collaboration and visibility, demand generation, sales enablement, and web management. Prior to joining Embarcadero, Jan served as Vice President of Marketing for Encirq, a provider of high-performance embedded database technologies. Before that, Jan led corporate and product marketing for SourceForge, Inc., and was key in driving 400+% growth for the SourceForge Enterprise Edition business. Jan also led marketing for the Embedded Platforms Division of Wind River Systems, Inc., and was Director of Marketing for Diab-SDS prior to its acquisition by Wind River. Prior to that, Jan held senior marketing and sales management positions at Orion Instruments, Inc., a maker of in-circuit emulators. Jan holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Joe Pistritto is an angel investor and an engineering leader with several Internet-related companies. He is currently VP of Development at Embarcadero Technologies where he oversees development of all Embarcadero software products. Mr. Pistritto has held various senior management roles in software engineering including vice president of internet products at Oracle and vice president of systems engineering at PointCast. Prior to joining Embarcadero Technologies, he was vice president of engineering at XDegrees, which was acquired by Microsoft. Mr. Pistritto received his BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Mr. Pistritto invested in XCOR in June 2000 and again in November 2000, and is active in advising on the strategic direction of XCOR outside of board meetings.

Michael Swindell brings more than two decades product development and implementation experience to his role as Embarcadero's Vice President of Product Management. He is charged with guiding Embarcadero's product strategy and calls upon his years of experience with technology waves such as RAD, Linux, Web Services, and .NET to deliver innovative products to market. Previously, Michael spent almost a decade leading product management and marketing for Borland's award-winning IDE and development tools, which entailed devising and executing successful business strategies in competitive markets. Before Borland, he held product director roles with Imation/3M Corporation and Luminous Corporation, an Adobe spin-off.

Kenn Hussey is a program manager for Embarcadero Technologies. He is a member of the Project Management Committee (PMC) for the Modeling project, lead of the Model Development Tools (MDT) sub-project, and a committer on the Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF) sub-project at Eclipse. He is also actively involved with the Object Management Group (OMG), representing Embarcadero on the Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN), Unified Modeling Language (UML), and Meta-Object Facility (MOF) / XML Metadata Interchange (XMI) revision task forces, as well as the Information Management Metamodel (IMM) submission team. Prior to joining Embarcadero, Kenn was a senior software developer for IBM Rational Software and a senior designer / team leader for Nortel Networks. Gary Haroian has served on the Network Engines board of directors since June 2003. He also works as a consultant and advisor to technology companies. Most recently, Gary served as chief financial officer, chief operating officer and interim chief executive officer at Bowstreet Software. Previously, he served as senior vice president of finance and administration and chief financial officer at Concord Communications Inc. and held executive positions at Stratus Technologies Inc. Gary also serves as director for Aspen Technology, Inc. and Silverback Technologies, Inc.
