Daniel R. Baty has served as our Co-Chief Executive Officer since September 2007. Mr. Baty, one of Emeritus' founders, served as its Chief Executive Officer and has served as a director since its inception in 1993 and became Chairman of the board of directors in April 1995. Mr. Baty also served as the Chairman of the Board of Holiday Retirement Corporation from 1987 to 2007 and as its Chief Executive Officer from 1991 through September 1997. Since 1984, Mr. Baty has also served as Chairman of the Board of Columbia Pacific Group, Inc. and, since 1986, as Chairman of the Board of Columbia Pacific Management, Inc. Both of these companies are engaged in developing independent living facilities and providing consulting services for that market.

Gerry Meinzer joined the Board of Comprehensive Care International in 2006. He is President of PMP, a merchant bank specializing in high technology, and also President of Emeritus of Smart Toronto Inc., a private sector initiative to promote the Greater Toronto Area as the technology capital of Canada. Prior to this, Mr. Meinzer was President of The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Toronto (1992-93) and President and CEO of Real Time Datapro, a data processing and computer services that became one of the largest Canadian computer service company in the general insurance market, following an amalgamation with Memotec Data Inc. in 1985 as an integral part of the acquisition drive for Teleglobe Canada. Mr. Meinzer is a Junior Chamber International Senator, Chairman of Rydium Inc., a Director of PCI Geomatics Inc. and idAlarm Inc., and a member of the Advisory Board of RoyNat Capital (Scotia Bank). Mr. Meinzer also chaired the initiative to form the Greater Toronto Airports Authority and served as a director for 12 years. Throughout his career he has served as the National President of the German-Canadian Congress; President of the Information Technology Association Canada (1974-75 and 1979-81); Chairman of the World Computing Service Industry Congress V (1986); Chairman of the Canadian Multiculturalism Council (1982-84); and Chairman of the Metro Toronto Jaycee Council. As well, Mr. Meinzer acted as Chair of Innovation Ontario Corp.

Additionally, Mr. Watterson served nine years with Sun Healthcare Group, another operator of long-term care facilities, pharmacies, and retirement housing communities.

Bobbie Knable is Dean of Students, Emeritus of Tufts University where she managed all aspects of student life policy and programs from 1980 through 1999. Prior to serving as Dean of Students at Tufts, Bobbie was the Dean of First-Year Students, the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies, the Director of Undergraduate Degree Programs for Adult Students, and an Assistant Professor. Bobbie has also been an educational consultant, presenter, and workshop leader, who has lectured on a variety of topics including student life, alcohol issues, women's issues, and diversity. Since her retirement, Bobbie continues to share her expertise by serving on the boards of the City on the Hill Charter School, Bennington College, the Massachusetts Institute of Psychoanalysis, the St. Botolph Club, and the Massachusetts Charter Public School Association. Bobbie holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music.

Joseph E. Grimes is an International Linguistics Consultant with the Summer Institute of Linguistics, and is assigned to the SIL Hawaii Pidgin language project. He is also Consulting Editor for the Ethnologue and companion volumes and Professor Emeritus of Linguistics, Cornell University. He did field work with SIL in Mexico (1952-1969) and has conducted SIL field workshops in Africa, Asia, South America, and the Pacific. He received a Ph.D. in Linguistics from Cornell University in 1960 and holds a Doctorate in Literature from Wheaton College.

Dr. Calhoun has been a board certified ophthalmologist since 1977. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1943. He attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Rhodes College undergraduate school and graduated from the University Of Tennessee College Of Medicine in Memphis. Dr. Calhoun did a rotating internship at the City of Memphis hospitals and served in the U.S. Navy for 2 1 2 years as a naval flight surgeon obtaining the rank of Lt. Commander. He also did emergency room work and general medical work during some of this time. He returned to Memphis for a 3 year Ophthalmology residency at the University Of Tennessee College Of Medicine. He served as chief resident during his third year. He began practice in Columbus, Georgia with Dr. Floyd Jarrell and Dr. John Newton with what is now West Georgia Eye Care Center. His practice interests include comprehensive ophthalmology with special interest in cataract and refractive surgery. He also enjoys pediatric ophthalmology and sees many children with crossed eyes. Dr. Calhoun maintains active involvement in the community as well. He has been Chairman of the Young Life committee and still serves on their Emeritus Board. He has been Chief of Staff at Doctor's Hospital and served as legislative Chairman of the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology. He is presently on the Board for Lighthouse for Christ, which maintains a mission in Mombasa, Kenya. Eye Care for the Needy, which supports Dr. Steve Beaty and his missionary endeavors in Zimbabwe, Africa, and on the Council of the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology. He also is chairman of the Ethics Committee at Doctor's Hospital.

Over the decade Nellie has been at Gensler, she has served as a sustainable design consultant on multiple project types. Her projects include Santa Monica College, LA Mission College, San Jose Airport and the Port of Long Beach Headquarters. She has spent much of the last four years providing a Sustainable Design and LEED oversight role on hospitality projects, including MGM MIRAGE's CityCenter project in Las Vegas, an 18 million sf mixed-use project on the Las Vegas Strip. Additional hospitality clients include Marriot/Ritz, Kimpton, Mondrian and Warner Brothers. Nellie is a founding member of the U. S. Green Building Council's Los Angeles Chapter and served as Vice-Chair from 2004-2007. She now serves as an Emeritus board member. She received both a B.A. and B.Arch. from Rice University in Houston, Texas. Interiors and Sources Magazine selected Nellie as one of the "25 Environmental Champions for 2004." More recently, she was recognized on both Real Estate Southern California's and Building Design + Construction's "40 Under 40" lists.

Robert E. Marks (age 56), has been a director of Emeritus since July 2005. From 1994 to the present, Mr. Marks has been the President of Marks Ventures, LLC, a private equity investment firm. He is a director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Denny's Corporation , as well as a member of the board of trustees of the Fisher House Foundation and The International Rescue Committee.

Roger J. Preis is the President of RPE Career Dynamics , an executive coaching, career management and business/management consulting firm. Formerly, Roger was President of Robert Half International Inc. in Connecticut and Westchester. He also held positions as Vice President, Staffing and Development and served on the Corporate Operations staff for RHI. In addition, Roger Preis has in-depth human resources experience at Chesebrough-Pond's Inc. / Unilever. He has held faculty positions for the University of Connecticut and for public and private secondary schools. Roger has advanced certification from New York University in Adult Career Planning and Development and the Co-Pilot Professional Coaching System. In addition, he is certified in Leadership Effectiveness Training and Process Skills Training. Roger also holds graduate and undergraduate degrees with concentrations in mathematics. Roger serves in a leadership capacity for non-profit boards including The Boys & Girls Club and Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care. In addition, he has held memberships in the International Coach Federation, the Association of Career Professionals International and the Coaching Consortium.

Mr. Young became a member of our board of directors in May 2006. Mr. Young has been a managing partner (and is currently an executive officer) of The CapStreet Group, LLC (investment company) since July 2006. He was also the chairman of the board of Metal Supermarkets International (metal distribution) from December 2005 through October 2007. Mr. Young was the president and CEO of Metal Supermarkets International from December 2002 to December 2005. Mr. Young is a certified public accountant and former partner of Arthur Andersen, LLP.
