Jim Lindemann runs Emerson’s motors and appliance components operations. He first joined the Emerson Motor division in 1977 as a technician and later was an application engineer. After taking a two-year break to complete his MBA degree, he rejoined Emerson in 1983 and held various marketing positions for the Specialty Motor division. In 1992, Lindemann was named president of Emerson Camco division. In 1995, he became president of the Emerson Appliance Motor division. In 1996, Lindemann was promoted to chairman and chief executive officer of the Emerson Motor Co. He was named senior vice president of Emerson in 1999 and became business leader of the motors and appliance components business segment. He was promoted to executive vice president in 2000.
Lindemann served in the U.S. Navy from 1974 to 1977. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri and an MBA degree from Duke University.

Jean-Paul Montupet is business leader of Emerson’s industrial automation segment which had sales of $4.3 billion in fiscal 2007. He is also president of Emerson Europe and an advisory director to Emerson’s board of directors. Montupet joined Emerson in 1981 as director of development and North American operations for Leroy-Somer. In 1990, he was named executive vice president of Emerson. He served as chief executive officer of Emerson Electric Asia Pacific from 1993 to 1995.
Montupet has been a member of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) board of governors since 1993. He also currently serves on the boards of directors for PartnerRe, one of the world’s leading reinsurance companies, and Lexmark International, a manufacturer of computer products.
Prior to joining Emerson, Montupet was chairman of the board of Leroy-Somer, Inc. and chairman of Founderies Montupet SA, Paris, France, the largest European aluminum foundry. His education includes an MBA degree from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales, Paris, France, and he attended the Harvard Business School’s International Teachers Program.
Randall L. Stephenson is chairman of the board, chief executive officer and president of AT&T Inc. He was appointed to the position in 2007.
Since becoming chairman, Mr. Stephenson has strengthened AT&T's position as the world's largest telecommunications company, including being #1 in wireless smartphones, wireless data, global business solutions, broadband, voice and local search advertising, and is continuing to gain momentum in video entertainment.
Mr. Stephenson previously served as the company's chief operating officer, from April 2004 to June 2007, where he was responsible for all wireless and wired operations, and as senior executive vice president and chief financial officer for SBC Communications (today AT&T), from August 2001 to May 2004.
Mr. Stephenson was appointed to AT&T's board of directors in 2005.
Born in Oklahoma City, Mr. Stephenson began his career with Southwestern Bell Telephone in 1982 in the information technology organization in Oklahoma. He then progressed through a series of leadership positions including an assignment in Mexico City as SBC International's director of finance, overseeing SBC's ownership interest in Teléfonos de México. In 1996 he was named controller for SBC Communications. Additionally, Mr. Stephenson served as senior vice president-Consumer Marketing.
He is a member of the board of directors of Emerson and a national board member of Boy Scouts of America.
Mr. Stephenson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Master of Accountancy degree from the University of Oklahoma.
RANDALL D. LEDFORD, 56, was elected to the Board of Directors in 2001. Mr. Ledford is currently Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Emerson Electric Co., a position he has held since 1997. He serves on several CTO boards and forums both in the U.S. and abroad. "David N. Farr has served as chief executive officer of Emerson since October 2000 and is only the third CEO of the company in more than 55 years. He was named chairman in September 2004 and president in November 2005.
Under Farr’s leadership, Emerson has grown its position in global markets, increased its focus on customer-oriented services and solutions, and invested in industry-leading technologies to enhance its long-term growth and market position. With his management team, Farr has kept the company focused on creating long-term value and maintaining Emerson’s solid financial performance relative to growth in sales, earnings, cash flow, and return on capital. In 2008, he was ranked among “The Best CEOs in America” and the top CEO in the electrical equipment and multi-industry category by Institutional Investor magazine.
Farr joined Emerson in 1981 in a corporate staff position. He then served four years as the Hong Kong-based president of Emerson Asia-Pacific and CEO of Emerson’s Astec joint venture. In May 1999, he became senior executive vice president and chief operating officer with responsibility for the firm’s global operations, positions that he held until being named CEO in 2000.
Farr serves on the board of directors for Delphi Corp. of Troy, Michigan. He is also a member of The Business Council, based in Washington, D.C.
Active in a variety of civic and charitable organizations in St. Louis, Farr currently serves on the executive boards of The Muny at Forest Park and the Boy Scouts of America (Greater St. Louis Area Council). He is also a member of Civic Progress, an organization of chief executives from leading companies in St. Louis who work together to promote the region. Farr is a past member of the board of directors of the United Way of Greater St. Louis and served as the organization’s annual fundraising campaign chairman in 2007, helping raise a record $68.8 million in corporate and employee gifts and pledges.

"Edward L. Monser has served as chief operating officer (COO) of Emerson since November 2001. As COO, Monser is responsible for Emerson’s day-to-day business operations, global supply chain and international business activities, which includes business development, investments, and strategic planning. Monser has more than 25 years of experience in senior operational positions at Emerson and has played key roles in globalizing the company.
From 1996 until becoming COO, Monser was president of Emerson’s Rosemount division. Under his leadership, Rosemount developed a range of innovative ""smart"" measurement and analytical devices for the process industry, expanded its service and solutions capabilities, and implemented significant operational efficiencies.
Monser began his career as a senior engineer at Rosemount in 1981. After serving in several engineering management positions, he was named Rosemount’s director of technology in 1987. Two years later, he became director of new products and technology. Monser went on to hold vice president positions overseeing several critical operations at Rosemount before becoming its executive vice president and general manager, and then president.
Monser serves on the board of trustees for the Eisenhower Fellowships; is the vice chairman of the US-China Business Council; and is a member of the Economic Development Board for Guangdong Province.
Monser received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology in 1980. He also has a bachelor's degree in education from Eastern Michigan University and is an alumnus of the executive education program at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. A resident of St. Louis, he is married and has four children."

"Charles A. Peters was appointed to senior executive vice president in 2000 and is responsible for helping Emerson and its divisions develop innovative global business models and strategies that build the company’s capabilities to support and create value through its customer relationships. He also oversees Emerson’s information technology, marketing and customer support programs that provide a foundation for implementing these initiatives. Sly subsequently held several positions of increasing responsibility within the Emerson Tool division, including executive vice president for sales and marketing, and president. Craig W. Ashmore, an executive vice president at Emerson, manages the company’s strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate technology functions, as well as Emerson Network Power’s connectivity solutions business. He has held these responsibilities since 2004. In October 2007 Ashmore was named a member of Emerson’s Office of Chief Executive, the company’s top management team that sets global strategy. In October 2009 he was promoted from senior vice president to executive vice president at the company.
