Dr. Kai Lindevall is the Executive Chairman, President, International Operations Europe and Asia of Encorium Group. Dr. Lindevall is a professional within the drug development field with a MD and PhD degree bringing along twenty years of senior Management experience in Pharmaceutical and Biotech industry and entrepreneurship in the CRO and Biotech industry.
He was one of the founders of Remedium in 1996 and of the European biotech company Ipsat Therapies Oy.
Comprising back-ground in academic medical and pharmaceutical research, he served as Acting Professor of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Tampere.
As a renowned Associate Director of Research at the private medical research institute, the Wihuri Research Institute in Finland, he led his own research group involved in thrombosis research.
His research interest has been in the fields of cyclic GMP, vasoactive prostanoids, beta-adrenergic regulation and the role of antibiotic treatment in the disturbances of gut flora and their implications for hospital infections by resistant bacteria. He has published over 40 peer reviewed scientific articles in these fields of research.
Since the beginning of the 90's he was committed to the pharmaceutical and biotech industry and has served as a Medical Advisor to the Finnish Pharmaceutical Company Farmos and then as the Medical Director for Rhone-Poulenc Roerer.
He has during the last years served as the President and CEO of Remedium.
In 2003, Finnish Business magazine "Optio" named Dr. Lindevall as the most successful entrepreneur.
Dr. Nardone holds the offices of Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Encorium Group, Inc. She has 23 years of experience in big pharmaceutical and start-up biotechnology companies. This includes general management experience and drug development responsibilities across many aspects of drug and device development, viz., Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Quality, Product Development and Project Management. Dr. Nardone’s regulatory experience spans investigational and marketed products, small and large molecules, drug, biologics and devices, proprietary and generic products, and a wide range of dosage forms (tablets, parenterals, injectables, creams and ointments).
Dr. Nardone received her Ph.D. and M.S. in physiology from Pennsylvania State University and her B.S. from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She enjoyed an academic career at Yale University School of Medicine and New York Medical College prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry. She has authored 35 publications and was the editor/author of the first edition of a textbook for regulatory affairs; “Fundamentals of Regulatory Affairs.”
Dr. Nardone brings to Encorium a breadth of corporate experience and experience with ex-US pharmaceutical entities. She has been a member of corporate management in 3 start-up companies and has been integral to venture capital financing, Initial Public Offering (IPO), and accessing government funding. Dr. Nardone has also been an employee of global companies whose headquarters were European-based (Pharmacia, Nycomed, Sanofi, and Byk Gulden).
