Ormat frequently sets out a doormat to its environmentally sound power plants. Founded in 1965 and headquartered in Sparks, NV, Ormat Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: ORA) is a geothermal and recovered energy power company. Through geothermal technology, the company extracts hot water or steam that is vaporized and used to drive turbines, resulting in a clean and reusable energy source. Recovered energy uses heat that is produced in other industrial processes that would usually disappear into the air. The company employs about 730 people and it had 2005 revenue of about $238 million. In November 2005, it received the Nevada Governor's Distinguished Business of the Year award for 2005.

Elon Kohlberg is the Royal Little Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School. Kohlberg received a B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. (summa cum laude) in mathematics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
