Suncor shines in its field. Founded in 1953 and headquartered in Greenwood Village, CO, Suncor Energy Inc. (NYSE: SU) explores, processes, and markets petroleum products. The company operates in four segments: Oil Sands, Natural Gas, Energy Marketing and Refining, and Refining and Marketing. It offers diesel, bitumen, natural gas liquids, crude oil, and other types of petroleum. It also has refining, transportation, and marketing operations. It has proven reserves of about 640 million barrels of oil equivalent and maintains 500 gas stations in Ontario, Canada. The company had 2005 revenue of about $11.1 billion and employs about 5,200 people. In May 2006, it was named by Alberta Venture Magazine as one of AôAlberta's Most Respected Corporations.'
