The company operates more than 11,700 miles of natural gas gathering and transportation pipeline, 3 processing plants, 14 treating facilities, and 3 storage facilities. Also, it sells over 400 million gallons of propane annually to 700,000 customers in 34 US states. The company employs about 3,100 people and had 2005 revenue of about $6.2 billion. Mr. Hersh is Chairman of our Board of Directors and a member of the Fund’s investment committee. He is Chief Executive Officer of NGP Energy Capital Management (“NGP”), having been involved with the Natural Gas Partners investment funds since the inception of the initial fund in 1988. Mr. Hersh leads NGP from its principal office in Irving, Texas, and is responsible for managing the investment portfolios of the NGP funds and their investment sourcing and monitoring. Prior to joining NGP, Mr. Hersh was employed by the energy group within Morgan Stanley & Company’s investment banking division, where he specialized in oil and natural gas financing and merger and acquisition transactions. Mr. Hersh serves on the board of directors of each of the general partners of Energy Transfer Partners, L.P., Energy Transfer Equity, L.P. and Eagle Rock Energy Partners, L.P. and on the boards of numerous private oil and natural gas companies. He graduated with a B.A., magna cum laude, from Princeton University in 1985 and an M.B.A. from Stanford University in 1989.
