Established in 1995, the Englewood Hospital and Medical Center Foundation, Inc. is the non-profit organization that develops private resources to support the capital, endowment, and annual operating needs of Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. Through its fundraising programs, special events, and outreach activities, the Foundation fosters community awareness of and investment in the Medical Center's healthcare facilities, programs and services. Throughout its history, the Medical Center has relied on the generosity of friends in the community to help ensure the quality of patient care. Donations have helped in immeasurable ways from supporting annual operating needs to funding new clinical programs or nursing scholarships. When the Medical Center's facilities have needed improvement to meet the changing needs of the community, donations have helped fund these major capital projects.

Aryeh Shander, M.D. is the Chief of the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care Medicine, Pain Management and Hyperbaric Medicine at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center in Englewood, NJ. He is also Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology & Medicine at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, and Executive Medical Director of the New Jersey Institute for the Advancement of Bloodless Medicine and Surgery Program at Englewood Hospital. Dr. Shander lectures nationally and internationally on a variety of topics related to blood conservation, volume resuscitation, acute anemia therapy, "blood substitutes", surgical blood management, acute normovolemic hemodilution and bloodless medicine and surgery. His publications have appeared in The Lancet, the journal Transfusion, and Transfusion Alternatives in Transfusion Medicine, for which he serves on the Editorial and Scientific Board. He is the author of book chapters and contributes to textbooks on blood management. Dr. Shander is a reviewer for Chest Journal and Transfusion. Dr. Shander is a fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine and the American College of Chest Physicians. He is a founding member of the Society for the Advancement of Blood Management (SABM), and the American Society of Critical Care Anesthesiologists (ASCCA) where he serves on committees, both locally and nationally. Dr. Shander is a member of the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), the Society for Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) and the National Anemia Action Council (NAAC) where he also serves and the Secretary, Treasurer. In 1997 Dr. Shander was recognized by Time magazine as one of America's "Heroes of Medicine". Dr. Shander received his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington and completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York, where he also served as Chief Resident. Additional postgraduate training included a fellowship in critical care medicine and a residency in anesthesiology, both at Montefiore Medical Center.

Edna Cadmus Ph.D, RN, CNAA received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from William Paterson University, New Jersey; Master of Arts in Nursing Education degree from Teachers College, Columbia University, New York; and Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing from Adelphi University, New York. Ms. Cadmus is a certified Nurse Administrator through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is a recipient of the NJ Governor's Nursing Merit Award for Advanced Nursing Administration. She is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau-dual membership for Adelphi University and UDMNJ. As the Senior Vice-President for Patient Care Services, Ms. Cadmus manages Nursing Services, Care Coordination, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Rehabilitation Medicine, Radiology, Home Care, Hospice, and the Generic BSN Program. From 1996 to 2002, Ms. Cadmus co-chaired the Education and Competency-Based Workgroup and served on the Steering Committee for the Colleagues in Caring Grant for New Jersey. In 2002, she was elected to Board of Directors for ONE/NJ. Ms. Cadmus had published several articles, namely, "Differentiated Practice: The Model of the Future", which was published in 1997; and "Cadmus- Defining the Generations: There are Four", which was published in 2002. In 2000, Ms. Cadmus did her dissertation on "The life of a staff nurse in transition to late adulthood".

Jo Ann Walter, MSN, RN, BC received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Felician College, New Jersey and her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey.
