He has been Chief Executive Officer of Eni, one of the world's leading energy companies, since June 2005.
After graduating in Economics & Commerce in 1969 from the Bocconi University, Milan, he worked for three years at Chevron, before obtaining an MBA from Columbia University, New York, and continuing his career at McKinsey.
In 1973 he joined the Saint Gobain Group, where he held a number of managerial posts in Italy and abroad, until his appointment as head of the Glass Division in Paris in 1984.
From 1985 to 1996 he was Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Techint and oversaw the privatizations of the SIV, Italimpianti and Dalmine subsidiaries.
In 1996 he moved to the UK and was Chief Executive Officer of Pilkington until May 2002.
From May 2002 to May 2005 he was Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Enel.
Paolo Scaroni is currently a Director of Assicurazioni Generali, LSEG plc (London Stock Exchange Group), Veolia Environnement (Paris), the Board of Overseers of Columbia Business School, New York, and a Director of the Fondazione Teatro alla Scala.
From 2005 to July 2006 he was Chairman of Alliance Unichem (UK).
In November 2007 he was decorated as an Officer of the French Légion d'honneur.

Alessandro Bernini was born in 1960 in Borgonuovo Val Tidone, Province of Piacenza, Italy.
Alessandro Bernini started his career in 1979 at Neutra Revisioni SaS, based in Milan, first as Junior Accountant in the Auditing Activities Department then as Accountant In Charge
In 1981, he joined ERNST & YOUNG thereafter becoming Senior, Supervisor and Manager. On the 01/01/1995 he was appointed Partner of the Company and Chartered Accountant Manager for the Areas of Piacenza, Parma and Cremona and Technical Manager for the branch based in Brescia.
In the same period he was also engaged as Lecturer for post graduate Master Degree courses in the Universities of Pavia and Parma.
On the 1st September 1996 he joined the Eni Group in the quality of Administration Department Manager for Saipem S.p.A.
In 2006 Alessandro Bernini was appointed Group Chief Financial Officer for Saipem S.p.A.
Alessandro Bernini has covered executive managerial roles in many important companies of the Saipem Group.
As of the 1st August 2008 Alessandro Bernini is CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER of the Eni Group.

Angelo Caridi was born in 1947 in Reggio Calabria.
He was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Snamprogetti in July 2005.
He graduated in civil engineering from the Politecnico of Turin.
He joined Snamprogetti in 1970 and he was the Manager of the Civil Engineering department in Rome from 1978 until 1984. After four years' experience as Manager of the Civil Engineering Division, he was appointed
Manager of Environmental Impact Assessment Business Unit and, in 1990, Marketing Manager of Infrastructures Division in Italy.
In 1991 he became Director of the Rome engineering centre. He was then appointed Chairman and Managing Director of Aquater and Chairman of Cepav Uno Consortium, in1993. In 2001 he was also appointed Director of the Infrastructures Division.
He relinquished the above tasks in 2002, when he was appointed Managing Director of Snamprogetti.
He is non-executive director of Saipem S.p.A. – a company listed on Borsa Italiana S.p.A. (the Italian Stock Exchange) – since 2006.
Since August 2007, he is COO of Eni S.p.A. – Refining & Marketing Division.

Claudio Descalzi was born in Milan in 1955. He graduated in physics in 1979 from the University of Milan. He continued his studies with specialist courses in Petroleum Engineering at the in France and Us.
He joined the Eni group in 1981 as oil/gas field petroleum engineering and project manager, following the development of North Sea, Libya, Nigeria, and Congo fields. In 1990 he was appointed head of operational activities for Italy.
In 1994 he was named Director of Agip Recherches Congo, with responsibility for all local upstream operations, and in 1998 become Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Naoc, an Eni subsidiary in Nigeria.
From 2000 to 2001 he was Regional Manager for Africa, Middle East and China at the Agip Division, where in 2002 he was appointed Country Manager for Italy.
From 2002 to 2005 he was Regional Manager for Italy, Africa, Middle East at the Eni Exploration & Production Division, and in 2006 he has been named Deputy Chief Operating Officer of the Eni Exploration & Production Division.
Since 2006 he has been President of Assomineraria.
He is Vice President of Confindustria Energy.
Since 30 July 2008 he has been Eni S.p.A. Chief Operating Officer of the Exploration & Production Division.

Domenico Dispenza was born in Trieste in 1946. He has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano. In 1973 he completed a Master's degree in Advanced Technology at Sogesta in Urbino.
Since January 2006 he has been Chief Operating Officer of Eni's Gas & Power Division.
He began working in 1974 at the Study Department of SNAM S.p.A., in 1977 he became head of Systems Analysis and from 1980 to 1991 he was Chief Negotiator for Gas Sales and Purchase Agreement.
From 1991 to 1999 he was Director Gas Supplies.
On 30 June 1999 he was appointed Managing Director of SNAM S.p.A.
From 2002 to 2004 he was Deputy COO of Eni's Gas & Power Division.
On 27 April 2004 he was nominated Chairman and CEO of Snam Rete Gas.

Rita Marino was born in Salerno in 1964.
She has been Chief Internal Auditor since July 1st 2005, when she joined Eni , and in charge of the Internal Control Committee since March 2007. She is also member of the Watch Structure and Secretary of Eni Internal Control Committee.
After graduating cum laude in Economics in 1987 at the L.U.I.S.S. University in Rome, she worked in Stet and then in Telecom Italia where she spent most her professional career, carrying out several managerial assignments in the Planning and Control Department. She has also achieved a well-established experience in the Merger & Acquisition Department, managing several and important corporate transactions.
In March 2003 she started working for Enel where she was Head of the Strategy, Control and Procurement Processes Area as well as Head of the Corporate Procurement.
She was also Chief Operating Officer in a company of the Enel Group and member of the board of several companies of Telecom Italia Group and Enel Group.

Among the world's leading energy experts, Leonardo Maugeri is Head of Strategy and Development at Eni.
Born in Florence in 1964, after two degrees and a research doctorate, he specialised in international energy economics in Great Britain (London School of Economics) and the United States (Georgetown University, Washington DC), where he lived and worked as an analyst for two years.
He joined Eni in 1994 and has occupied a number of important positions, including Assistant to the
Chief Executive (1995-1998) and Head of Strategic Studies and International Relations (1999-2000), before being appointed (at the age of 36) the youngest central director in the oil company's recent history (2000), with responsibility for the Eni Group' strategies.
Since the spring of 2006 Dr Maugeri has also had responsibility for two other central functions (which have been merged with the Department for Strategy and Development) Scientific & Technological Research and HSE (Health, Security & Environment).
Maugeri is also a director of Polimeri Europa SpA (the Eni petrochemical subsidiary), Italgas and the Fondazione Mattei.
He is a member of the Energy Advisory Board and the World Economic Laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), as well as the International Councillor Board of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS - Washingtom, D.C), the Energy Advisory Board of Accenture, the Foreign Policy Association (New York) and the Rand Business Forum (Los Angeles).
Maugeri is the author of four books and numerous articles published by some of the world's most prestigious periodicals, including Foreign Affairs, Newsweek, Science, Scientific American, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Oil & Gas Journal. He was featured on the cover of the special issue of Newsweek published at the end of 2006 and entirely dedicated to energy, with an article that opened the issue (an issue that closed with an article by former Vice President of the United States, Al Gore). He is also a contributor to "Il Sole 24-Ore", for which he writes a column on Global Energy.
In June 2006 his third book was published in the US, "The Age of Oil: the Mythology, History, and Future of the World's Most Controversial Resource"; (Praeger), which rapidly became reference text for the sector and was translated into 11 languages(the Italian version was published in 2006 by Feltrinelli). In 2008 the Italian edition of his most recent book was published - "Con tutta l'energia possibile: Tutto quello che è necessario sapere sui problemi e il futuro delle diverse fonti di energia (Sperling&Kupfer).

Born in Rome in 1962. Lawyer. After a number years as a lawyer at the Bank of Italy, in 1998 he was nominated General Manager at the Ministry of the Economy and Finance, head of the "Banking and Finance System and Legal Affairs Department".
He has been a director of Telecom Italia, Ferrovie dello Stato, Alitalia, Fincantieri and a government representative on the Supreme Council of the Bank of Italy.
He has also been a member of numerous Italian and European commissions representing the Ministry of the Economy, including, at a national level, the Commission for the Reform of Corporate Law and, at an EU level, the Financial Services Policy Group, the Banking Advisory Committee, the European Banking Committee, the European Securities Committee, and the Financial Services Committee.
He has also been special professor of banking law at the University of Cassino.
He is a Grande Ufficiale della Repubblica Italiana.
Since 2006 he has been Director of Legal Affairs and Governance at Eni and a member of the board of Eni International BV. He is also holds the position of Company Secretary on the Board of Directors of Eni.

Stefano Lucchini, was born in Rome in 1962. He is married with two children and has a degree in economics from the LUISS in Rome. His first job was in the research department at Montedison.
After a period as assistant to the President of the Energy and Commerce Commission of the U.S. Congress in Washington D.C., he was director of communications at Montedison USA in New York.
Returning to Italy in 1993, he was responsible for financial communications and investor relations for the Gruppo Ferruzzi Montedison.
He joined Enel in 1997, initially in financial communications (where he oversaw the company's IPO) and subsequently as the group's head of external relations.
He has also been the head of external relations for Confindustria, the italian employers' federation.
In June 2002 he was appointed head of external relations for the Banca Intesa Group. Since July 2005 he has been senior vice presiden of public affairs and corporate communication for the Eni Group. He teaches at the Advanced School of Journalism at Milan's Catholic University, for which he is also a member of the evaluation committee.
He has been a member of the board of directors of AGI (the second Italian newswire company) since 2005. He is also a Commendatore della Repubblica Italiana and a Silver Medallist of Italian Red Cross.
Since 2007 he has been a member of the supervisory board of Confindustria and the executive board of UPA. He is also a member of the boards of Censis, the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM) and the Eni Foundation.
He is a visiting fellow of Oxford University and President of the Benedict XVI pro Matrimonio et Familia Foundation.

Massimo Mantovani was born in Milan in 1963. He has a degree in law and a Master's in Law (LLM) from the University of London.
He is registered to practice law in Italy and in England has the title of come solicitor.
For around 5 years he worked for a number of law firms in Milan and London before joining the legal department of Snam SpA in 1993.

From 1966 to 1998 he was professor of corporate finance at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan and is the head of one of the most prestigious consultancy firms for Corporate Affairs and Finance.

Born in 1940.
He began working in 1959, in a stock brokerage in Milan; from 1965 to 1982 he worked at Banco di Napoli, where he held the post of deputy director of the stock market and securities office.
He has held many managerial posts in the asset management field, notably director of securities funds at Eurogest from 1982 to 1984, and general director of Interbancaria Gestioni from 1984 to 1987. After moving to the Prime group (1987 to 2000), he was chief executive officer of the parent company for a long period.
