Entergy is an integrated energy company engaged primarily in electric power production and retail electric distribution operations. At Dec 31 2007, Co.'s Utility segment generated, transmitted, distributed, and sold electric power to 2.7 million utility customers in a four-state service territory that included portions of Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas, and Louisiana; as well as operated a small natural gas distribution business. Co.'s Non-Utility Nuclear segment owns and operates six nuclear power plants located in the northern U.S., and sells the electric power produced by those plants to wholesale customers. This business also provides services to other nuclear power plant owners.
