Carolyn F. Sidor, MD. Dr. Sidor joined EntreMed in 2001 as Vice President, Clinical & Regulatory Affairs and was appointed Chief Medical Officer in September 2004. Dr. Sidor is a board-certified hematologist/medical oncologist. Prior to joining EntreMed, Dr. Sidor held various leadership positions at Cato Research Ltd., a prominent Clinical Research Organization (CRO), including Vice President, Scientific and Medical Development; Medical Director; Senior Clinical Research Physician; and Project Director.

Cynthia W. Hu, JD. Ms. Hu joined EntreMed in June 2006 as Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary and was appointed Chief Operating Officer in December 2008. Prior to joining EntreMed, from January 2000 to May 2006, Ms. Hu served as senior attorney for the corporate and finance practice group at Powell Goldstein LLP in Washington, DC, where she advised clients on all corporate matters, including complex public and private financings, mergers and acquisitions, SEC and regulatory compliance, and corporate governance and compliance. Before that, Ms. Hu served as counsel for ING Annuities (formerly Golden American Life Insurance Company) and an attorney with the law firms of Klehr, Harrison, Harvey & Branzburg, LLP and Littman & Krooks, LLP focusing on corporate transactions and compliance with corporate and securities laws.

Mark R. Bray, PhD. Dr. Bray joined EntreMed in January 2006 as Senior Director, Research and in November 2007, Dr. Bray was promoted to Vice President, Research. Dr. Bray has spent his scientific career working towards the development of drugs for oncology and inflammatory diseases. Dr. Bray joined EntreMed in 2006 following the acquisition of Miikana Therapeutics, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company co-founded by Dr. Bray and others, which was focused on the development of targeted therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. Prior to the founding of Miikana in November 2002, Dr. Bray was Head of Quantitative Biology at the Amgen Research Institute in Toronto, Canada, and acted as Project Team Leader for multiple drug discovery efforts at Amgen, Thousand Oaks, CA.

Kathy R. Wehmeir-Davis. Ms. Wehmeir-Davis joined EntreMed in November 2003 as the company’s Controller and was appointed Principal Accounting Officer in December 2008. She is responsible for managing the financial accounting operations of the Company and ensuring the Company’s compliance with the internal control requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. Prior to joining EntreMed, from 2000 to 2003, Ms. Wehmeir-Davis served as Senior Accountant for Avemco Insurance Company of Frederick, MD, a subsidiary of HCC Insurance Holdings, Inc. Ms. Wehmeir-Davis’ career began in public accounting, serving 15 years with McLean, Koehler, Sparks & Hammond, CPAs, as Senior Accountant and Auditor.

Professor of Immunology, and President, Karolinska Institute Professor Wigzell has been the President of the Karolinska Institute since 1995. He graduated from the Karolinska Institute as a Physician (MD). He also attained a DSc and took a post as a special cancer scientist with the Swedish Cancer Society. In 1971 he returned to the Karolinska as Acting Associate Professor in the Department of Tumor Biology. After two years he became a Professor in the Department of Immunology at Uppsala University Medical School. In 1982 he returned again to the Karolinska as a Professor in the Department of Immunology and in 1988 he became Director General of the National Bacteriological Laboratory in Stockholm.

Dr. Mak is Director of The Campbell Family Institute for Breast Cancer Research, and Professor, University of Toronto, Departments of Medical Biophysics and Immunology. He served as Vice President of Research, Amgen, Inc. and Director of the Amgen Research Institute (Toronto) from 1993 to 2002. Dr. Mak is internationally recognized for his breakthrough discoveries in cancer genetics, immunology, molecular biology and virology. These discoveries include locating, isolating and cloning the T cell receptor and creating genetically-engineered mice to increase the understanding of the human immune system, apoptosis and tumorigenesis. He holds numerous patents and has published over 650 articles, many in high-impact scientific journals around the world. Dr. Mak has received several awards including the Sloan Prize of the General Motors Cancer Foundation, King Faisal International Prize for Medicine, Novartis Prize in Immunology, Gairdner International Award, E.W.R. Steacie Award (NSERC), Ayerst Award (Canadian Biochemical Society), Stacie Prize (Stacie Trust Foundation), Robert Noble Prize (NCIC), Killam Prize in Health Sciences (Canada Council for the Arts) and the Order of Canada. In March 2004, he received the 2004 Paul Ehrlich and Ludwig Darmstaedter Preis in Germany. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences (USA), the Royal Society of London, and the Royal Society of Canada.

James S. Burns became a Director of Vermillion in 2006. He served as President & CEO of Entremed from June 2004 until December 2008. Mr. Burns was a co-founder and served as President and as Executive Vice President of MedPointe Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company. From 2000-2001, he served as a founder and Managing Director of MedPointe Capital Partners, a private equity firm that led the leveraged buyout to form MedPointe Pharmaceuticals. From 1993-1999, Mr. Burns served as a founder, Chairman, President and CEO of Osiris Therapeutics, Inc., a privately held biotechnology company. From 1986-1992, he was Vice Chairman of HealthCare Investment Corporation and a founding General Partner of Healthcare Ventures L.P., a venture capital partnership specializing in forming companies built around new pharmaceutical and biotechnology products. From 1981-1986, Mr. Burns served as Group President and as Vice President of the Laboratory Products Group at Becton Dickinson and Company. Previously, he was a Vice President and Partner at Booz Allen & Hamilton. Mr. Burns is Chairman of the Executive Committee of the International BioResources Group, the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC), and a Trustee of the University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute. He earned his BS and MS degrees in biological sciences from the University of Illinois and an MBA degree from DePaul University.

Jennie C. Hunter-Cevera, Ph.D. has served as President of the University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute since October of 1999. Prior to this, she was the Director of the Center for Environmental Biotechnology at the E. O. Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory which was a collaborative effort between the Lab and the University of California at Berkeley. Earlier, she was co-founder of two small companies (The Biotic Network and Blue Sky Research) that did contract work for large pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and also consulted for five years in a variety of biotechnology fields. For 10 years Dr. Hunter-Cevera was employed at Cetus Corporation and served as the Director of Fermentation, Research and Development and before that at E. R. Squibb and Sons as a Research Scientist. Dr. Hunter-Cevera has served as President of the Society of Industrial Microbiology (SIM), of the United States Federation of Culture Collections (USFCC) and of the International Marine Biotechnology Association (IMBA). She served as Senior Editor for the Journal of Industrial Microbiology for ten years. Dr. Hunter-Cevera also served as a member on former USDA Secretary Glickman's Genetic Resources Advisory Board and President Clinton's State Department Council on Genetically Modified Foods. Dr. Hunter-Cevera also served as the United States representative to the OECD on Biological Resource Centers. She has given more than 70 invited lectures and keynote presentations and is the author of several papers, chapters, and books, as well as the holder of three patents and 15 pending patents. Dr. Hunter-Cevera was elected to the American Academy of Microbiology in 1995, received the 1996 SIM Charles Porter Award, and was elected as a SIM Fellow in 1997. She was the West Virginia University Nath Lecturer in 1999 and appointed by Governor Glendening as Maryland's Science and Technology Representative for the Southern Governor's Association in 2000. Dr. Hunter-Cevera was honored by her alma mata, West Virginia University, as the 2003 recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award. In 2004, Dr. Hunter-Cevera was the recipient of the USFCC/J. Roger Porter Award. Supported by the United States Federation for Culture Collections (USFCC) and ASM, the award recognized Dr. Hunter-Cevera's expertise in collecting, maintaining, and preserving microbial cultures. She was honored as one of Maryland's Top 100 Women for 2003 and 2007. She was recognized in 2007 as one of the 50 Most Influential People in Maryland. Dr. Hunter-Cevera served on Governor Ehrlich's Technology Commission for the State of Maryland and was one of six members of the Governor's Executive Council for Transition. She currently sits on the State of Maryland's Task Force on Minority Participation in the Environmental Community and several sub-committees for the Maryland Life Science Authority Commission in addition to several other non-profit and for profit board of directors including BioIT.

Dr. Bair joined EntreMed in October 2007 as Senior Vice President, Research and Development. Dr. Bair is responsible for the company’s overall research and development programs and activities. Dr. Bair has over 28 years of management experience in oncology drug discovery, development and chemistry. Prior to joining EntreMed, from 2003 to 2006, Dr. Bair served as Senior Vice President and Head, BioPharmaceuticals Research at Chiron Corporation in Emeryville, California. From 2002 to 2003, Dr. Bair was Vice President, Discovery Oncology at Pharmacia Corporation in Peapack, New Jersey. From 1982 until joining Pharmacia, Dr. Bair held positions of increasing responsibility within the pharmaceutical industry, including Unit Head of Oncology at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation and Executive Director and Head, Oncology Research Program, Sandoz Pharmaceuticals Corporation; and various oncology research positions at Burroughs Wellcome, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Dr. Bair earned his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Brandeis University and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Mark C. M. Randall has been a director of the Company since April 1996. He has been CEO of Commander Asset Management Ltd. since May 2002. Prior to this appointment he was associated with Sarasin International Securities Limited, London, England, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank Sarasin and Cie, a private bank based in Switzerland, where he was a Director since 1994 and Managing Director since 1999. Mr. Randall also serves as Chairman of Acorn Alternative Strategies (Overseas) Ltd., an investment fund company.

Dr. Weinblatt is Co-Director of Clinical Rheumatology at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. His major research interest is therapeutic interventions in rheumatoid arthritis. He has published over 127 papers, reviews and invited chapters in the field of rheumatology primarily rheumatoid arthritis therapeutics. He is co-editor of the textbook, Treatment of Rheumatic Diseases, the textbook Rheumatology 3rd edition and author of the Arthritis Action Program. He co-received in 1997 the Arthritis Foundation Virginia P. Engalitcheff Award for Impact on Quality of Life for work on methotrexate. He served as an Associate Editor of Arthritis and Rheumatism and is currently sits on the editorial board of Journal of Rheumatology. He was a member of the Rheumatology Subspeciality Board of the American Board of Internal Medicine. In 2001 he served as the President of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR).

Mr. Knight has been a Director of the Company since June 2000. Mr. Knight has been President of Generation Investment Management US, a London-based asset management company, since August 2004. From 2001-2003, he was a Managing Director of MetWest Financial. Prior to that, Mr. Knight s business experience included serving as general counsel of Medicis Pharmaceutical and a practicing attorney. Mr. Knight s experience also includes serving as chief of staff to Al Gore when Mr. Gore was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives and later the U.S. Senate and holding senior positions with four presidential campaigns, including serving as campaign manager for the successful 1996 re-election of President Clinton. Mr. Knight currently serves as a director of Medicis Pharmaceutical Corp. and Par Pharmaceuticals. He is also a director of Schroders mutual fund and hedge fund family, a member of the Cornell University College of Arts and Sciences Advisory Council, and the Johnson Schools Center for Sustainable Global Enterprise.
