James J. Tanous serves as executive vice president, secretary and general counsel of Erie Insurance, a regional property/casualty and life insurer based in Erie, Pa. Pete Patterson was elected to a four year term on the Board of Trustees in 2007. He has been a Deerfield Township resident for 13 years, and has lived in the Greater Cincinnati area his entire life. He received his college education from Heidelberg College and Northern Kentucky University. A veteran of the insurance industry for 22 years, Pete is certified as a CPCU, and has extensive experience in management and business. He is currently an Insurance Claims Supervisor for Erie Insurance, and brings to the position of Trustee the ability to lead and envision both long- and short-term goals.
