Extreme Networks

Mark Canepa is the president and chief executive officer of Extreme Networks®. Prior to joining Extreme Networks, Canepa was with Sun Microsystems and served as executive vice president of the Network Storage Products Group. Before that, he served in multiple vice president and general manager roles at Sun, after joining the company in 1996. Canepa's previous experience also includes several general manager positions at Hewlett-Packard Company, including development and marketing of the firm's workstation products. Canepa's educational background includes both a B.S. and M.S. in electrical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and he has also completed the University of Pennsylvania's Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School.

Mr. Palu joined Extreme as Vice President, Corporate Controller in April 2004, and was named acting Chief Financial Officer August, 2006. From January 2000 through December 2003, Mr. Palu was Vice President of Finance for Interactive Transaction Services Inc., a privately held software application provider. From January 1997 through December 1999 Mr. Palu was Vice President of Finance for the pharmaceutical services division of McKesson Corporation, a pharmaceutical distribution company. From December 1989 through December 1996, Mr. Palu held various financial management positions, including Vice President, Corporate Controller at Circle International Inc, a transportation management company. Mr. Palu started his financial management career in September 1983 and served six years as an auditor at Deloitte & Touche, an independent registered public accounting firm. Mr. Palu holds a B.S. in Business Administration/Accounting from San Francisco State University.

Paul A. Hooper brings a unique perspective to the role of Vice President and General Manager for the Volume Products Group, as the Company's former Chief Marketing Officer, and prior to that, its Chief Information Officer. Hooper, a 15 year veteran of the High Tech industry, is responsible for the strategy, product development and business management for Extreme Networks’ Summit® family of fixed configuration switches, the BlackDiamond® 8800 family of modular switches, wireless LAN solution and security solutions. Hooper also serves as Extreme Networks executive sponsor for data center and enterprise LAN initiatives. In his previous role as Chief Marketing Officer, Hooper oversaw Extreme Networks worldwide marketing efforts, where he led the strategic focus of solutions and technical marketing, global field marketing and corporate communications. Prior to that, as Extreme Networks Chief Information Officer, Hooper oversaw the strategic use of IT systems and adherence to corporate compliance for data throughout a globally distributed business. Specifically, Hooper led the planning, procurement and ongoing support of business applications, network infrastructure and related services supporting more than 800 employees across 50 countries. Prior to joining Extreme Networks, Hooper served as vice president of information technology at myCFO, Inc., where he was responsible for the Enterprise Applications and Infrastructure for the fast-growing Financial Services and Advisory company. Hooper has also held senior-level IT positions with JDS Uniphase, Netscape Communications and Sun Microsystems.

Harold Covert Chief Financial Officer Covert brings to Silicon Image more than 30 years of financial management experience at technology and telecommunications companies. From 2005 to 2007, Covert served as CFO for Openwave Systems Inc. and as a board member and chairman of their audit committee from 2003 to 2005. Covert has previously served as the CFO of Adobe Systems Inc., Silicon Graphics, Extreme Networks Inc. and Fortinet Inc. Earlier in his career, he held financial management positions with industry-leading companies including Northern Telecom Inc., ISC Systems Corp. and Brush Wellman Inc. Covert received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lake Erie College and an MBA from Cleveland State University. Covert is a Certified Public Accountant and has served in the United States Army.

A co-founder of Extreme Networks, Schneider has 16 years of experience in engineering and engineering management. Schneider has a strong background in networking silicon and systems, including Ethernet, FDDI and switching technology. Prior to Extreme Networks, Schneider was engineering manager at Network Peripherals and held various project lead positions at National Semiconductor. He holds a BSEE from UC Davis.

Suresh Goplalakrishnan serves as vice president and general manager of the Scalable Products Group for Extreme Networks, where he is responsible for the strategy, product development and overall business management for high performance solutions addressing the Carrier Ethernet market. Gopalakrishnan leverages a rich background in systems engineering and the execution of business strategy and product development. Gopalakrishnan previously held the roles of vice president and general manager for Extreme Networks’ Emerging Product Group, where he oversaw security and wireless solutions. Prior to that, he served as vice president and general manager of converged systems and vice president of marketing for Extreme Networks. Prior to joining Extreme Networks, Gopalakrishnan was the executive vice president of engineering at Riverstone Networks and served as the director of Corporate Strategy at Cabletron Systems (now Enterasys). Gopalakrishnan has also held management positions at Sun Microsystems and HP. Gopalakrishnan has been an adjunct faculty member at University of Idaho and Santa Clara University. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Idaho.

Mr. Corey has served on our Board since December 2003. Mr. Corey served as an executive officer of Thor Technologies, Inc, Forte Software, Inc., and SyQuest Technology Inc.. He has served as a director of Interwoven, Inc. and Veraz Networks, as well as on the Boards of Directors of private companies.

Mr. Carinalli has served on our Board since October 1996. Mr. Carinalli has held numerous executive roles in technology companies various positions for National Semiconductor, Inc., a publicly traded company, most recently as Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer, and as a Board member of the Board of Directors of Fairchild Semiconductor. Mr. Carinalli also has served on the Boards of Directors of private companies.

Mr. Silverglide has served on our Board since June 2004. From January 1997 to July 2002, Mr. Silverglide served as our Vice President of Sales and prior to that he served as an executive of Bay Networks and of Centillion Networks.
