Mr. Morris began his career in the IT industry in 1977 as an engineer for Famous Barr, a division of May Department Stores, maintaining POS registers and back office systems. He quickly moved into a management role for Famous as that group expanded to maintain the Wide Area Network, May Corporate Data Center and most of the networked devices within Famous Barr s infrastructure. In 1987, he moved to Micom Communications initially as Presales Engineer and later as a District Manager assisting Value Added Resellers in providing Converged Solutions in the early days of integrating voice and data. In 1995, he joined Information Products, Inc.(IPI), a Wide Area Networking VAR, as a Account Executive in the St. Louis Marketplace. Mr. Morris was promoted to Sales Manager in 1997 and eventually to Vice President of Sales & Marketing. He continued to serve in the same roll when IPI was acquired by CompuNet Engineering in 2001.
