He is graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Banking and the University of Nebraska School of Commercial Lending. In 2006 Butler was named President of the Missouri Independent Bankers Association. He and his wife Connie have raised three children and are long time residents of the St. Clair area.

In 1971 after completing college and three years in the military, including a tour in Vietnam, Doug Harness decided to follow his father's footsteps as an agent for Farmers and build his own insurance agency. After almost 6 years as an Agency Owner, Doug decided to pursue a different career path and became a district manager for Farmers in April 1977. Now 35 years later, Doug has built one of the most successful district manager operations in the Farmers Insurance organization with 33 Agency Owners in 25 office locations throughout the metropolitan Portland area. Doug is proud that he has qualified for a number of awards in the Farmers organization including 5 prestigious President's Council selections. But, he is most proud of the people in his district that have achieved personal and financial success in building their own insurance agencies. During his free time, Doug enjoys running, gardening and traveling.

She also serves as Vice Chairman of The Jackie Robinson Empire State Freedom Medal Commission, Trustee of The Little League Foundation and is past Vice Chairman and Trustee of The United States Equestrian Team and past Director of The United States Olympic Committee. A recipient of many awards and honors, Jane Clark has been recognized by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation with its Pillar of New York award; the Fire Department of the City of New York with their Humanitarian of the Year award; Harlem R.B.I.; the Baseball Assistance Team; and is a member of the Boys? Club of New York All Sports Hall of Fame. The Clark family has been a devoted steward of the Baseball Hall of Fame since Stephen C. Clark founded the Museum in 1936.
