Mr. Feldman is a partner in the Real Estate, Land Use, and Corporate & Banking Groups at Farrell Fritz. His practice concentrates on real estate development, joint ventures, real estate brokerage law, as well as real estate leasing. He represents clients that include publicly-traded companies and national tenants in development, joint ventures, leasing, financing and acquisition transactions involving several million square feet ranging from AAA office, to industrial, to various retail projects. Although owner representation has been the centerpiece of his practice, Mr. Feldman has been able to maintain a careful balance in the industry and remains a trusted adviser to real estate owners/developers as well as business owners, tenants and real estate professionals alike. A large part of this position is due to his involvement, as counsel to the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society ("CIBS"). CIBS is one of the largest commercial brokerage organizations on Long Island. As counsel to the organization since its inception, and through his representation of various landlords/developers and tenants, over the years Mr. Feldman has developed an excellent working relationship with every major brokerage house and substantially every active member of CIBS. While his involvement in the real estate industry on Long Island is an important factor in positioning Mr. Feldman as a leader in the commercial real estate field, it is bolstered by his core real estate practice which consists of real estate development, structuring and negotiating complex real estate transactions (including joint ventures, tiered financing, like kind exchanges and sale and lease backs). Mr. Feldman is a veteran of, and enjoys, an operational understanding of the Long Island political landscape. Coupled with his strong background in land use, this skill set affords him the ability to flag issues early in the process and work through those issues so that they are addressed during due diligence in the context of an acquisition, or during the leasing process in the context of commercial lease transactions. From concept to completion, Mr. Feldman cuts a path through complex legal issues and local hurdles to keep his client?s projects on course. He regularly handles land use matters for national companies as well as local developers in essentially every major town in the Counties of Nassau and Suffolk and many of the villages throughout Long Island. He is currently counsel to companies developing some of the most exciting and innovative projects on Long Island. Early in his career Mr. Feldman was Associate Counsel for the New York Job Development Authority (currently Empire State Development) where he worked on various economic development programs including tax-exempt bond financing. From 1997 through 2002, Mr. Feldman served on the board of director's of the Huntington Arts Council and is involved in the Men's division of the Schneider's Children's Medical Hospital. In 2006, Mr. Feldman was recognized by Long Island Business News in Who's Who in Real Estate Law.
