Gary Shields is Chairman, President and CEO of Rhevision. He oversees the company's overall strategic direction, management, and financing. A seasoned and successful entrepreneur, venture capitalist, investment banker and board member, Shields has spent his career focused on building emerging growth companies involved in game changing technologies. He joined Rhevision from Avtech Ventures, where he was Founder and Managing Director. During his tenure at Avtech, was instrumental in driving the strategic plans for numerous portfolio companies involved in IT and health care technology. Before Avtech, Shields was Co-Founder and Managing Director for one of Southern California's leading boutique investment banks, Flemming, Lessard & Shields. At FLS he worked closely with many early stage technology companies to set strategies, develop business models, execute on business plans, raise capital and optimize exit strategies. Prior to FLS, he was Senior Vice President, Corporate / Business Development at IMS, a leading communications software company targeting the health care industry. Before IMS, he held senior investment banking positions focused on the semiconductor, storage, communications and environmental services industries at Robertson Stephens, LF Rothschild, The Chicago Corp. and Technological Investors. He attended University of Cincinnati where he received his BA with Honors, and Georgetown University where he was a Fellow in the MSFS program. He also earned the designation of CFA and has sat on more than a dozen boards of directors.

Dr. Peter Hartl joined Ceradyne as the result of the Company's acquisition of the German technical ceramic corporation, ESK Ceramics GmbH & Co. KG, completed in August 2004. Dr. Hartl is President of ESK and also heads ESK operations. He joined ESK in 1998 as Vice President in charge of boron compounds. Prior to joining ESK, Dr. Hartl spent 11 years at ESK's former parent company, Wacker Chemie, starting in Wacker's research department and moving to the chemical regulations department as part of a management development project. He became technical support manager in Wacker's silicone division and was later appointed regional manager for silicone sealants to establish sales, marketing, production, and service operations in Singapore.

David Molowa, Ph.D. was appointed to Favrille's Board of Directors in July 2006. Mr. Molowa spent 15 years on Wall Street as a sell-side analyst at UBS Securities, JP Morgan Securities and Bear Stearns & Co. Over the course of his career he followed the biotechnology, life science technology and international pharmaceutical industries. Most recently he was a Managing Director at UBS Securities, leading the firm's biotechnology research efforts. He has been a member of the Institutional Investor "All Star Team" for 11 of the past 12 years. Previous to his career in the financial industry, Dr. Molowa was a senior research biochemist and lab director for Merck & Co. and is the author of 17 scientific publications. He received his bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Richmond, his Ph.D. in Pharmacology/Toxicology from the Medical College of Virginia and his M.B.A. from Rutgers University.

Dr. Royston is a Founding Managing Partner of Forward Ventures. Dr. Royston has been involved in the biotechnology industry in San Diego from its inception in 1978 with the founding of Hybritech, Inc. (later acquired by Eli Lilly) and with the founding of Idec Pharmaceuticals in 1986 (which later merged with Biogen). Dr. Royston has been instrumental in the formation, financing, and development of numerous successful public biotechnology companies, including: Applied Molecular Evolution (acquired by Eli Lilly); Combichem (acquired by DuPont); Corixa (acquired by GlaxoSmithKline); Favrille; Genesys Therapeutics (merged with Somatix and acquired by Cell Genesys); and Triangle Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Gilead). Currently, Dr. Royston is the founding Chairman of Targegen in San Diego, and was elected Chairman of Morphotek in Exton, PA. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Avalon Pharmaceuticals, and Favrille, where he was the founding Chairman. Dr. Royston was previously the Founding President and CEO of the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center (1990-2000) and on the faculty of the medical school and cancer center of the University of California, San Diego (1977-1990). He received his B.A. (1967) and M.D. (1970) degrees from the Johns Hopkins University and completed post-doctoral training in internal medicine and medical oncology at Stanford University. In 1997, President Clinton appointed Dr. Royston to a six-year term on the National Cancer Advisory Board.
