Mike was named Vice President, Business Development and Chief Technology Officer in July 2007. For 6 years prior to that, he worked as a consultant. His clients, located throughout North America and Europe, included major capital equipment manufacturers, venture capital and private equity firms, investment banks and small high-technology start-up companies. Before that he was director of U.S. research at FEI from 2000 to 2001. Previously, he held the tier-I NSERC Research Chair in Nanomagnetism/Physics at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC and he was Professor of Physics at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ. He also runs his own small software company, LLG Micromagnetics Simulator. Mike has a B.S. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a M.S. & Ph.D. from Cornell University.

Raymond A. Link has served as a director since February 2005. Since July 2005, Mr. Link has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of FEI Company, a leading supplier of products and systems that enable research, development and manufacture of nanoscale features. Prior to this, Mr. Link served as Vice President, Finance and Administration, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary of TriQuint Semiconductor, Inc., a manufacturer of electronic signal processing components primarily used in wireless communications, since July 2001 as a result of TriQuint s merger with Sawtek, Inc. Mr. Link joined Sawtek, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of a broad range of electronic signal processing components primarily for use in the wireless communications industry, in September 1995 as Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Link received a B.S. degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Link is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Brian is Sr. Vice President of Worldwide Operations. He joined FEI in August 2007 . His areas of responsibility include: Manufacturing, IT, and Service Operations. Before joining FEI, Brian was Vice President of Sales Operations with Xilinx Corporation. Prior to that, he worked for Applied Materials for 12 years, where he was responsible for multi-billion dollar organizations in manufacturing, supply chain and service, and oversaw a major IT implementation. His responsibilities included management oversight for manufacturing and service facilities in Europe, Asia, Japan, and North America.

Jim D. Higgs joined us as Senior Vice President, Human Resources in November 1997. Prior to joining us, Mr. Higgs was the Oregon Site Management Director of Synopsys, Inc., a leading supplier of electronic design automation software to the global electronics industry, and, prior to its merger into Synopsys, the Vice President of Human Resources for Logic Modeling. In 1988, Mr. Higgs left Intel Corporation after fourteen years in various senior Human Resource management positions, including the last as the Vice President of a joint venture between Intel and Siemens AG. Mr. Higgs holds B.S. degrees in Business, Psychology and Physics from the University of Oregon.

John A. Doherty became our Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Service in October 2001. Mr. Doherty joined us in August 1999 as Vice President and General Manager for the Asia Pacific Region Sales and Service Division. From 1984 to 1999, Mr. Doherty was Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Micrion Corporation, a company that he helped found. Mr. Doherty is a director of Andor Technologies, PLC, a manufacturer of digital cameras used to measure light. Mr. Doherty holds B.S., E.E. and M.S. degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Dominique was named Vice President, NanoResearch in August 2007. He has been with FEI for 8 years. Prior to this role he held several specialist, commercial and managerial positions within FEI, including managing the Nanoport in Eindhoven for FEI from 2001-2005. His educational background includes a Ph.D. in Material Science and a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Eindhoven and a Masters degree in Chemistry from the University of Nijmegen.

George was appointed Vice President of the North America sales in 2005. From 2003 to 2005, he was in charge of the Transmission Electron Microscope product line. Prior to that, he was the Sales Director in North America for Electron Optics Products. Previously, he was an Account Manager from 1992. His FEI employment began in 1981 as a Field Service Engineer. He received technical training in the US military.

FEI hired Jim Fetterman as the Vice President of WW Service, October 2008. Jim comes to FEI with a distinguished track record spanning 35 years, managing Service with companies such as General Electric, KLA-Tencor and Varian Medical Systems. Jim has experience in an extensive range of service roles.

Paul was named Vice President and General Manager of the NanoIndustry Market Division in August 2007. The division has a particular focus on solutions for mining, chemical and advanced material development, and forensics. He has been with FEI for six years. Prior to his present position, he was FEI's Director of Strategic Planning and Corporate Development. Before FEI, he was with Intel Corporation for six years, where he served in marketing and general management roles within the New Business Investments Group (part of Intel Capital), and in process development engineering. He holds an MBA from the University of Oregon and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Steve joined FEI as Controller and Vice President Finance in July 2001. He also served as Acting Chief Financial Officer from December 2001 to January 2004. From April 1999 through June 2001, he served as Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer for RadiSys Corporation, a leading provider of building blocks enabling next-generation Internet and communications systems. He spent the previous nine years at Sequent Computer Systems, Inc., a manufacturer and provider of information technology solutions, as Vice President and Controller. Before that, he was with Wang Laboratories, Inc. as Director of Finance for logistics/manufacturing and system manufacturing/distribution. Steve holds a B.S. in accounting from Boston College.

Tony has been promoted to Sr. VP. Market Divisions, October 2008, and will continue in his roll as FEI's NanoElectronics business VP, which is assumed in December 2006, having previously managed the NanoElectronics Laboratory business. Prior to 2005, he was responsible for our Small DualBeam and Scanning Electron Microscope product lines. He joined FEI in August 2001. Prior to joining FEI, Mr. Edwards was Director of Sales and Marketing for LEO Electron Microscopy. Previously, Tony was Product Manager and then Marketing Manager with Cambridge Instruments during its eventual absorption into the large Leica group of optical companies. He holds a LRIC in Chemistry and Instrumental Analysis from the University of Southampton.

David joined FEI in August of 2001, as Vice President of R&D in the Beam Technology Division, and was promoted to General Manager in July, 2002. In May 2003, he was appointed CTO. Prior to joining FEI, Dr. Narum was with Applied Epi Inc. (a molecular beam epitaxy equipment supplier) as Executive Director of Advanced Technology. From 1990 to 2000, he was with Physical Electronics Inc.(PHI) including three years as Director, Research and Development. Previously, he held research positions at Honeywell, Inc. and Control Data Corporation. Dr. Narum holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Physics) from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, an MSEE degree from the University of Minnesota, and a Ph.D. degree (EE) from Stanford University.

Peter J. Frasso has served as our Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of FEI since May 2005. From January 2003 until joining us, Mr. Frasso served as Senior Vice President of Global Operations for Brooks Automation, Inc., which provides automation products to the semiconductor industry. He served as Brooks’ General Manager of the Fab Automation Division from May 2002 until January 2003, after joining that firm in January 2002 as Vice President of Business Integration. From June 2000 until January 2002, he was Executive Vice President and Managing Director of LightPointe Communications, Inc. and for seventeen years before that he was employed in various capacities at Varian, Inc., serving during the last eight years as Vice President and General Manager of the Vacuum Products Division. Mr. Frasso holds a B.S. in Engineering from Northeastern University.

Gerhard H. Parker has served as a director of FEI since July 2001. Dr. Parker has been retired since 2001. Dr. Parker held a variety of positions at Intel Corporation from 1969 to 2001, where he served most recently, from 1999 to 2001, as Executive Vice President of the New Business Group. During his tenure at Intel, Dr. Parker also served as Senior Vice President of the company s Technology and Manufacturing Group from 1989 to 1999, where he managed worldwide manufacturing. Dr. Parker serves on the board of directors of Applied Materials, Inc., a supplier of products and services to the semiconductor industry and of Lattice Semiconductor Corporation, which designs, develops and markets programmable logic devices and related software. Dr. Parker holds B.S.E.E., M.S.E.E. and Ph.D. degrees from the California Institute of Technology.

James Richardson has led an illustrious career in high tech over the past 25 years, and now acts as a consultant to high tech companies. His experience includes service as senior vice president and chief financial officer of WebTrends Corporation, which merged with NetIQ Corporation in March of 2001. Prior to WebTrends, Richardson was vice president and chief financial officer at Network General Corporation. There he managed the $1.2 billion merger with McAfee Associates, resulting in the creation of Network Associates. Before that, Richardson was vice president and chief financial officer of Logic Modeling Corporation, now a division of Synopsis, and vice president and chief financial officer of Advanced Logic Research. Additionally, Richardson is a member of several committees including, FEI Company-Audit Committee Member, Digimarc Corporation-Audit Committee Chair, Governance Committee Member and Plumtree Software-Compensation Committee Chair & Audit and Nominating Committee Member. He holds a doctorate degree in law, cum laude, from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Portland.

Thomas F. Kelly has served as a director of FEI since September 2003. Mr. Kelly serves as chairman of the board of MontaVista Software, provider of Linux-based development software, where he was also Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President between June 2006 and February 2008. Mr. Kelly served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Epicor Software Corporation, an enterprise software company from February 2008 until January 2009. He also served as a director of Epicor from January 2000 until January 2009. Mr. Kelly was President and Chief Executive Officer of Encentuate, Inc., an enterprise software company, in 2006. From September 2004 until December 2005, Mr. Kelly was an entrepreneur-in-residence with Trident Capital, a venture capital firm. During that period, from March through September 2005, Mr. Kelly also held the title of Chief Executive Officer and member of the board of directors of Transware Limited and its holding company parent, Eastchase Limited. Transware provides localization and translation services to enterprises and e-learning content suppliers, supporting translation in 80 languages. From January 2001 to September 2004, Mr. Kelly was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BlueStar Solutions, Inc., an enterprise resource planning software hosting company. From July 1998 through December 2000, Mr. Kelly was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Blaze Software, Inc., a provider of rules-based e-business software that enabled personalized interaction across an enterprise s electronic contact points. From March 1996 through March 1998, Mr. Kelly was employed at Cirrus Logic, Inc., a provider of digital audio, video and high performance analog and mixed signal integrated circuits for consumer entertainment and industrial applications, as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and then subsequently as Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Kelly holds a B.S. degree in Economics from Santa Clara University.

Michael J. Attardo has served as a director of FEI since April 1999. Dr. Attardo has been retired since 1999. From 1992 to 1999, Dr. Attardo was Senior Vice President and General Manager of International Business Machines Corporation’s (“IBM”) Microelectronics Division. Dr. Attardo enjoyed more than 30 years of experience in engineering, management and development at IBM. Prior to serving as General Manager of the Microelectronics Division, Dr. Attardo was General Manager of the Manufacturing and Process Development Division of IBM. He serves as a member of the board of directors of the Semiconductor Industries Association and the Engineering Council of the Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science. He also serves on the joint industry-government Semiconductor Technology Council for the United States Department of Defense. Dr. Attardo holds a B.A. from Queens College and a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. from Columbia University.
